Women's Health - August 2007

I have an ultrasound coming up tomorrow but my pain in the lower right quadrant is making me nervous. I have difficulty walking, sitting , bending because of the pain. Has anyone experienced this stuff before? My doctor told me it could be either cyst or ectopic. I have acute case of PCOS. I am so scared. PLease help.

ive been on yaz for almost a month and i've started diet pills(lipo 6) a couple of says ago. my question is since im taking diet pills are they going to interefere with my birth control? will it still work (the birth control???)

I have been taking Loestrin 24 fe for 3 months now. First 2 months, I had a very light period. This past month, I missed my period. I took a pregnancy test and it came out negative. Now I have a really bad burning feeling in my stomach. I hate asking pregnancy questions, but I don't know if this is a sympton or not...???

I turned 16 and for 6 months I've been dating a good male friend I've known since we were little kids, who is 2 years younger. Since we are so close we're practically soul mates and we love each other, we both decided to lose our virginity together. The odd thing is he's just starting to grow so he's still skinny, short and his legs and chest are completely hairless, but I was surprised to find out he's so well hung, his penis must have been over 6 inches. We tried making love but it took over 10 minutes of relaxing and repositioning before he finally fit all the way in. By that time, it was starting to feel really good, but he was only able to last a few seconds. Do all boys make weird faces and drool during climax, or did I do something wrong? Is it normal for particular parts of a boy's body to grow quicker while other parts seem to be just starting puberty? Are there any exercises I can do so he'll fit easier and to help make him last longer? Thanks so much for any help.

It's August 28th. I got my period on August 4 and it lasted til the 10th. My periods usually only last 3 days so I was kind of surprised. And now the other day, the 26th, I got it again......can someone tell me why? I'm thinking about calling my gynecologist, but I thought I'd see what people here had to say. Thanks all! okay my sister recently told me that she has a " smelly yellow goo" coming from down there. she is 12 years old. she said that it has been happening since she was 10! im not familiar with this b/c im 14 and i just started my period. it runs in my family to be a late age to start. does she have an effection. even in her panties is a hard yellow smelly thing. she NEVER mention it to be or our parents untill now she told me. she thought it meant she was going to start but its been 2 years! she said its not itchy. should i tell my mom to take her to the doctor or is this normal and i dont! please help me!

I had a total hysterectomy 6 months ago. I have not had sex in the last 12 weeks. I am bleeding enough to have to wear a pad & my abdomen hurts. I can't get any information on the web. I went to my university's women's clinic and they obviously didn't have a clue. I was told "well, we might be able to get you in tomorrow." I made an appointment for tomorrow morning. But, should I go to the emergency room instead? It hurts, I feel weak and bit light headed, and I'm bleeding. I don't have a uterus OR ovaries, so how can I be bleeding? I haven't had any sexual interaction at all, so that can't be it either. Help!

i dont know how my friend does it, she is so open about it and just announces it around. i could never dream of that.
im just really nervous about how she will react because its been 2 years...and she might be mad or upset. i just dont know when to say it, and when i think i'm going to, i chicken out.

Did you know that there is a new type of breast cancer that is called Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC)?? This is a type of breast cancer that's found without a lump, but the most classic symptoms are: rapid increase in breast size, reddness, skin hot to the touch, persistant itching, and thickening of breast tissue. If you have any of these symptoms PLEASE visit your doctor immediately! Most physicians have never had a patient with this type of cancer, but I was just e-mailed a video clip about 5 women who had it and were told that it was probably a mosquito bite. One girl was 16 and had it and she died. She was too embarrassed to tell her mom that her breast looked "funny". If any of you would like to see that clip, please let me know and I will e-mail it to you. Women everywhere need to be alerted to this info.

most of my friends have had theirs, and they're surprised when I tell them I haven't. Is the height thing a misconception, like people assume taller girls have had their period because they look older? also, i've heard that moms and daughters start their periods around the same time. my mom had hers when she was 12 and I've still had nothing, not even a little spotting. my doc said i'd have it months ago. (I know she's not god or anything but still!) so what gives?

I've been on the shot for about 6 months now. My last injection was May 18, 2007 and I was supposed to go back for my 3rd injection on August 10, 2007 but never went since my husband and I are trying to conceive :) I've bled the whole 6 months I was on the shot, whether it was bleeding or spotting, with the exception of maybe a week or two (after the first shot) without any bleeding at all. A couple days ago, the bleeding stopped completely and yesterday I noticed I started bleeding again. Could that be my regular period or just the shot wearing off? Also, for those of you who was on the shot for UNDER a year, how long did it take your to get pregnant, if you did? I heard/read horror stories about women not being able to conceive or miscarriages but most of them were on the shot for 5+ years. Could that happen to me too? Thanks!
