I had a total hysterectomy 6 months ago. I have not had sex in the last 12 weeks. I am bleeding enough to have to wear a pad & my abdomen hurts. I can't get any information on the web. I went to my university's women's clinic and they obviously didn't have a clue. I was told "well, we might be able to get you in tomorrow." I made an appointment for tomorrow morning. But, should I go to the emergency room instead? It hurts, I feel weak and bit light headed, and I'm bleeding. I don't have a uterus OR ovaries, so how can I be bleeding? I haven't had any sexual interaction at all, so that can't be it either. Help!

So sorry you're having to deal with this.

You really have to be your own judge on this one, considering
the following factors:

Severity of pain
Amount of blood flow
and
how worried you are.

There is obviously some urgency, but if you are uncomfortable with the "tomorrow" part, go for the ER.

One consideration here - there are going to be further tests with this one, as it's not just a surface problem. The hospital is the place with the machines to do that, and they may not have those available in the clinic.

go to the emergency right away, it seems like internal bleeding so something from the inside must have happened, in abdomen area most likely since thts where you feel pain, so my theory is tht you have some sort of injury in you're abdomen area ( from the inside) and now all the blood is leaking out from one place it can, dont panic, just go to emergency immediately, and btw you're light headed because of the loss of blood. good luck and i hope i helped

yes, go to emergency room. Pain and bleeding MIGHT be signs of infection. Peritonitis is a severe condition you want to avoid. You need to be checked for infection and have bloodwork done to rule this out. Don't wait, treat your body with the respect and care it deserves.

Vaginal bleeding can be from a vaginal lesion or tear in the sutures from surgery. If you remain symptomatic (Lightheaded, dizzy, weak) go to the ER, otherwise monitor the output in terms of the number of pads/hour you use, and go to your appt tomorrow.
