I've been on the shot for about 6 months now. My last injection was May 18, 2007 and I was supposed to go back for my 3rd injection on August 10, 2007 but never went since my husband and I are trying to conceive :) I've bled the whole 6 months I was on the shot, whether it was bleeding or spotting, with the exception of maybe a week or two (after the first shot) without any bleeding at all. A couple days ago, the bleeding stopped completely and yesterday I noticed I started bleeding again. Could that be my regular period or just the shot wearing off? Also, for those of you who was on the shot for UNDER a year, how long did it take your to get pregnant, if you did? I heard/read horror stories about women not being able to conceive or miscarriages but most of them were on the shot for 5+ years. Could that happen to me too? Thanks!

Well i'm not sure what's going on w/your bleeding, but i will tell you I don't think you have to worry about conception problems..I was on the shot for 7 yrs..got off of depo and started taking the pill & within 3 months of being off depo and on the pill, I became pregnant with my first child..lol..I know it sounds wrong because i was on the pill after the shot and honestly to this day i'm still confused as to how I was able to conceive so easily but i did and now she is 11 months old!
:-) ..But point of the story is, I was on Depo for 7 years and had no problem with conception, so therefore, I don't feel you have any reasons to worry :] Hope this puts your mind at ease at least a lil'.. good luck!

Some people get pregnant ON the shot, some get pregnant right OFF the shot, and some can take up to two years to get pregnant. Some actually have to go to a fertility specialist for help.

Please don't worry about it and just let it happen. Do not "try" to conceive. My mom tried and tried and never got pregnant, then she stopped trying and got pregnant. I've heard that from other people as well, as soon as they stopped trying, it happened!

Good luck!

I was on the depo for a while and never bled at all when I was on it. I came off it to conceive and bled constantly for about 3 months, then they became irregular for 4 months. I eventually conceived 7 months after finishing the depo and had a healthy baby girl. I'd never go back on it though!

I was on the shot for 1 year and bled a lot too. That is why I got off it. It took almost 1 year for my periods to come back regularly. It could take u awhile to get pregnant. Just give your body time for your periods to regulate and then try for that baby. Good luck.

Using no safety you'll get pregnant,i used to be at the depo and stopped taking it after which 8wks later i used to be pregnant however it used to be deliberate. The simplest method of now not utilising any type of contraceptive considering of the chemical substances could be to make use of condoms, cap or the coil no chemical substances are used with both of those approaches.
