I've been trying to find statistics lately about combined birth control methods to find how effective they are together at preventing pregnancy. I have been on birth control pills for a year and a half (I started on the pill more than a year before I became sexually active), but I know that the pill is only 99% effective when used perfectly, so my boyfriend and I also resort to the pull-out method. I can't seem to find any information about how much of the 1% remaining chance of pregnancy is reduced by pulling out. I know using a condom would be better than pulling out, but I have serious issues with condoms, so it's not an option.

I am already 24 years old and have been sexually active with the same partner for one year. They say you should get it up to age 26 - does it get less effective the older you get? I'm just trying to see if it is actually worth it since my insurance won't pay for it - I mean, always better safe than sorry, but still, I need more details before I commit! Help!

Okay, I'm getting married in early May and my hubbie and I are planning to go to Hawaii for our honeymoon. I need help in coming up with plans for our honeymoon, especially the sex part of it!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know what lingerie to wear, what toys to bring, what position, whether to use protection or not, etc... PLEASE offer any advice (men and women) on what I should do. I am still a virgin and promised myself not to lose it until marriage and have kept that commitment. THANX for all of your help.

2 months ago, my period was 3 weeks late and I finaly got it. After that, I never felt right. About 3 weeks ago I was so tired and started feeling sick to my stomach. Then the headaches, and stabbing cramps, and the last straw, my back pain. I lost 8 IBL's in one week. Whenever I eat (even a small bite) I bloat immediatley and hurt for hours. My back is on fire. So went to the hospital on Monday and the doctor said I had PID. He prescribed me doxycycline 100mg 2x daily for one week. Test results were negative for STD's. Its been 2 days and I feel worse, should I go back to the DR? I dont think he gave me the right amount of medicine based on searching :(

I had my first child Jan. 27, 2007. I got my first Depo-Provera shot on March 20, 2007 at my 6 weeks checkup.

I have always been a moody person the week before my period (before I got pregnant) and fairly calm and laid-back during. Now that I've gotten the Depo, I've had my period for 2 weeks (and counting) and I've been moody the ENTIRE TIME! Before my period lasted 3-5 days tops. My fiance can't stand to be around me, I get upset over the stupidest little things, and it's just effecting me horribly. I know it's one of the side effects and so is a longer period before it actually stops it...but I don't like it. I didn't think my mood would get worse.

My Dr. told me to wait until I get the second shot in June, because for the first 3 months I am just adjusting to it mentally, emotionally, and hormonally. But, I'm thinking about switching to the pill, or some other form of BC before then. I don't like the way Depo has affected me.

Any suggestions? Suggestions on a new BC?

i take it (orthotricyclin) soley to regulate my period so i'm not worried about getting pregnant; but sometimes i forget to take it for a day or 2, and other days i'll play catch up and take 2 a day, often i take it different times of day instead of the same 3 hour window. What happens if you take the under those 3 different circumstances? Also does starting a new pill cycle have any effect on my increased appitite, weight gain and bloating?

I have been on birth contol for almost 3 years now. I used to used Depo Provera, but switched to Sprintec about 7 months ago. To have a period only 4 times a year, I take only the blue pills for two packs and then on the third pack i take the blue and placebo pills. I wasnt supposed to take the placebo pills until this coming saturday, but started spotting two weeks ago and it hasnt stopped. this has never happened before. im pretty good about taking my pills on time, but two weeks ago i forgot one day and then doubled up on the next. So basically i am not sure what is going on with my body. Anyone have any ideas? SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE.

I am 29 years old and a stay at home mother. I get about 7-8 hours of restful sleep a night (no sleep apnea) but I still feel sleepy throughout the day. Last time I went to the doc (6 months ago) blood sugar and thyroid were normal, and I take my women's vitamin with Iron faithfully. I limit caffeine and sugar and drink good stuff like decaf tea and water.

Is it possible I need more sleep than I'm getting? When I take an afternoon nap I feel better but then I don't get my housework done while my toddlers are sleeping! I hate wasting part of my afternoon on a nap. Any suggestions on what might be causing my sleepiness?

Thanks.

P.S. I am not pregnant - checked that already. LOL

I invited my friend grace over to tea on tuesday. She ate it all up and said she really enjoyed it, but as she finished it she went all quiet and hardley spoke, like she was feeling guilty that she had ate this meal. Anyway she asked to go to the bathroom to wash her hands, but she was like 10 minutes so i decided to go and see if she was ok, to my horror i found her over the toilet with the end of a toothbrush stuck down her throat. She said shes scared of putting weight on and getting rid of the food is the only way she can stay slim. WHAT IS THIS A SIGN OFF? should i tell her sister or parents?...

Okay, is it a school policy or a law that says schools can't give medicines to the students without a doctor's note?

I have had to deal with cramps for the last three hours and I still can't get home for at LEAST another forty minutes. Do you think I could complain about this, or is this a law that I can't fight? And ladies, has anyone else ever had this happen to you?
