I am already 24 years old and have been sexually active with the same partner for one year. They say you should get it up to age 26 - does it get less effective the older you get? I'm just trying to see if it is actually worth it since my insurance won't pay for it - I mean, always better safe than sorry, but still, I need more details before I commit! Help!

You could try another way in protecting yourself. Try strengthening your immune system, take a vitamin everyday and that is a good start. I will tell you what I know. Merck the company that makes it, got hit really hard when they lost alot of money from all the law suites with vioxx. That drug killed many people and they need to have a come back and make the money back that they lost. That is why Gardisil is one of the most expensive vaccines out there. Merck pushed to have it released to the public as quick as they could to help make up for what they lost. Goes the same with the infant immunization Rotateq, 8 years ago that one was taken off the market for the health issues it caused and it is back and it is still causing those same health problems in infants today.
Just be careful. Proper nutrition and a strong immune system will do an even better job at protecting you from all the different strains of HPV.

This virus is so properly-known that seventy 5% of sexually lively adults get it for the duration of their lives. It would not continually reason cancer, even even though it happens to approximately 15% of ladies people who get the virus. The vaccine is in basic terms sturdy whether it relatively is run earlier a guy or woman has caught the virus, so it relatively is appropriate performed whilst somebody continues to be a virgin. i will comprehend human beings annoying with regard to the protection or the effectiveness or the value of the vaccine, or being compelled to have any form of vaccine by using the government. yet most of the human beings who're protesting are non secular nuts who look to think of in the event that they keep their youngsters ignorant they won't have intercourse. it is in basic terms straight forward stupid. Your daughter is going to have intercourse in some unspecified time contained sooner or later in her life, except she will become a nun. whether she saves herself till marriage, who's to declare her husband would not have HPV? as quickly as the vaccine has been shown to be risk-free and useful, why does no longer you vaccinate your babies? stupid...

If you read all the propaganda out there, you'd assume the unnecessary vaccine, Gardasil, is the only way known to man to prevent the human papillomavirus (HPV), the most common cause of cervical cancer, even though this cancer is almost COMPLETELY avoidable with appropriate lifestyle habits.

Your first course of action would be to abstain from sex (unless you are married). Secondly, if you feel for some reason you are at risk, then get a cancer screening.

Abstinence is cheaper and much safer than getting a vaccine that doesn't have enough research behind it yet.

Don't let anyone pressure you or scare you into getting the vaccine. It's all a big racket and nobody is doing anything to teach women about abstinence. They are just pushing contraceptives and vaccines at them.

By the way, only 2% of the women who contract HPV each year are infected with the type of HPV that puts them at risk for cervical cancer.

DO THE RESEARCH before you have a knee-jerk reaction.

Good Golly, Miss Molly, why would you want to get an experimental virus injected into your body? Unless you have a very high rate of cervical cancer in your family, I don't see the need to worry. This whole thing seems like a ploy to get people to follow orders blindly without question. Why chance getting something like that? I'd say no, but it's your choice.

I would definatly get the vaccination. It would still give you protection and you would never forgive yourself if you got it and you had not gotten the vaccine. I know that they say it does not cover against all strains but you deserve all the protection you can get. I wish they ahd found the vaccine when I was younger becsaue I would have definalty gotten it.

Take care of yourself.

Yes you should get it. I am a teenager and I am getting it. I am not sexually active but everyone girl should get it. It is not less affective if you are older. I would ask your doctor cause on the commercial it says that is is not for woman who are pregnant or may become pregnant because unless you are using the phil you may be pregnant. But I think you should get it.
