2 months ago, my period was 3 weeks late and I finaly got it. After that, I never felt right. About 3 weeks ago I was so tired and started feeling sick to my stomach. Then the headaches, and stabbing cramps, and the last straw, my back pain. I lost 8 IBL's in one week. Whenever I eat (even a small bite) I bloat immediatley and hurt for hours. My back is on fire. So went to the hospital on Monday and the doctor said I had PID. He prescribed me doxycycline 100mg 2x daily for one week. Test results were negative for STD's. Its been 2 days and I feel worse, should I go back to the DR? I dont think he gave me the right amount of medicine based on searching :(

I went back to a different doctor for a second opinion and it's not PID(I didnt think it was) They said its a cyst and started me on some new antibiotics and I'm sceduled for an ultrasound. So far I still dont feel better(a lot of cramping and back pain, not I keep waking up covered in sweat.) Should I be worried? I just want to start feeling better :( It feels like forever to be in so much pain just from a cyst.

To cure PID, you have to beat the underlying infection (which is not always a STD). Problem is, severe PID can result in scar tissue formation in the uterus and Fallopian tubes. This can damage those organs, and it can be uncomfortable.

You haven't even finished your meds yet, so I think you should wait to finish your course of Doxy first. If your pain hasn't resolved yet, definitely let the doctor know. You should also schedule yourself for a pelvic exam so you can find out whether your reproductive tract is in good shape.

ADDENDUM
I think it's odd they'd give you more antibiotics for a cyst. Usually cysts have non-infectious causes like hormonal issues. Do they know how big the cyst is? I'd hope they'd look at non-surgical treatment first. But if it is a big cyst, they'll probably look into cyst removal surgery.

I have had alot of cysts in my life, and they do make you feel bad for at least 6 weeks or more.I also had PID and I spent 2 years in and out of the hospital, they said I had CHRONIC PID and they wanted to do a HYSTERECTOMY on me to stop it. But it finally got better.
