I invited my friend grace over to tea on tuesday. She ate it all up and said she really enjoyed it, but as she finished it she went all quiet and hardley spoke, like she was feeling guilty that she had ate this meal. Anyway she asked to go to the bathroom to wash her hands, but she was like 10 minutes so i decided to go and see if she was ok, to my horror i found her over the toilet with the end of a toothbrush stuck down her throat. She said shes scared of putting weight on and getting rid of the food is the only way she can stay slim. WHAT IS THIS A SIGN OFF? should i tell her sister or parents?...

It sound like Grace is bulimic. Bulimia is when people who think they are fat and throw up after most meals. Yes, I would most definitely tell someone! If she keeps doing this, she could really harm herself. Bulimia is curable, it just comes from self-hate and insecurity. Just be there for her; watch her for any more signs she still throwing up, and if she is tell her parents. She won't like it at first, but it is the best for her.

Definitely tell someone. This is not something she can fix alone. She is what doctors call bulimic. This disorder is very damaging to the body and causes physical as well as emotional scars. Check out this site to learn more.

That is bulimia and in the advanced stages it can make you very unhealthy or even kill you.
Someone needs to know. People who are in the grips of this addiction don't think they have a problem, just like any other addict.

This is quite dangerous. Do tell her family or someone that can talk to her about the dangers. Good luck.

It's really very common and no big deal, so long as she doesn;t get so skinny that her boobs shrink too much.
