Women's Health - February 2007

I have a small lump in a breast that has thickening tissue moving upwards from it towards my collarbone. The sonogram showed nothing but I know they aren't too accurate on detecting breast cancer.My Doctor want to just remove the lump but I am worried about what will happen to the tissue that is thickening.In the future I worry another dr. will contribute it to scar tissue although it spreads about 3 inches upwards from the lump.I don't know what to do.The dr. says he doesn't know what will happen to the thickening tissue in the future(if it can become cancer) but he doesn't think it should be removed.Can someone who knows about these things advise me? Should I see a dermatologist?I'm seeing a military dr. and he seems to be good but I am worried since cancer runs in my family and i recently had a lump removed from the other breast that was abnormal but not cancer yet.Also, the previous sonogram showed nothing on this other lump although it was abnormal.

Ok it has been 3 months since my last peird, I can skip sometimes but never this long and i also have diabetes. I am not pregent, because i know very well that I am a virgen. So is it time to go see a dr. for this. I really don't want to, I have a fear of going to one of those dr. im 18 and haven't yet and really don't want to go. But this seems like it is kind of importent, so any ideas.

In another question, someone named Becky said that heating pads can injure you? I know you can get burns from using them incorrectly, but other than that, are there any risks?

I cannot get through the pain without using heating pads, esp those thermaheat ones that you stick on your skin under your clothing. So just wondering if there's something I should know.

My aunt got up this morning with a burning pain down the middle of her chest to her stomach and a burning throat. It hurts a lot when she coughs she has nausea and a mild headache. Any suggestions as to what it might be? If theres something I need to specify please ask and I'll add a detail. Thanks for any help.

I have always been a small person. The most I ever weighed was 112 lbs. Last summer I got sick and had to have two kidney stones removed, I vomited alot from the pain, it was unbearable. Also, I was under alot of stress and lost almost 20 lbs in a 2 month time frame. It took some time and I finally got my appetite back, however, I don't seem to be gaining that weight back. I think I gained about 5 lbs and its been 7 months. I am officially a size 0. Is this normal?? I weigh close to 100 lbs and i am 5'3. I do eat and I'm not sick anymore. Does it take time to gaint he weight back. I had to go out today an purchase new clothes because my pants hung off my waist.

all of a sudden, a few minute's ago, i started having this VERY painful cramp thing going through my lower abdomen. it hurts so much. i went and laid down, but that only made it worse. i feel nautious and a little dizzy. its not gas or constipation...what could it be?? Its not time for my monthly either. - i had a baby about 2 1/2 months ago, if it helps anyone's diagnosis. I dont have insurance, so going to the hospital isn't a option unless my arm has been cut off or something.

please help...it hurts really bad..

I have noticed a lump inside my vagina, towards the 'top' wall (if you're sitting down). Sometimes it is lower, and sometimes its like it shrinks further up. Since noticing this lump, it is almost as if there is less room in my bowels - when I need to go to the toilet, my stools make the vaginal wall lumpy, and crowds the inside of my vagina, so there is less room in the vagina. I'm worried about this because although I am a virgin, I would like to sleep with my boyfriend, but I'm afraid he will realise there is something wrong.

Normally I take my birth control pill at 7 every morning before school. However I've started to not have to get up early on teh weekends anymore and I don't wake up til about 11 and i take my birth control pill then.

is this not effective?
Does this mean I have to wake up at 7 am on weekends?
Can I change my time to 11pm with the next cycle of birth control if it's absolutely necessary?


Keep in mind I don't use my birth control for birth control, but for regulating my period and helping out with my previous skin problems.

Pain underneath my tongue!?
This may sound werid, but i noticed that yesterday after coming home from a dentist appointment, my tongue hurt to lift it up to the roof of my mouth. You know how you have that web underneath your tongue, well i have a big swollen red bump there now, and when i lift my tongue up, it hurts, bc its pulling my skin thats connected to the gums on the back side of my bottom teeth.
anyone have this before? im worried. i dont drink i dont smoke, and the only time i noticed this was yesterday after i got my cavities filled....am i gonig nuts here or is there someone out there who has had this before? should i see a doctor?
