Women's Health - January 2007

I'm sort of on the young and short side.
When I was 11 and 10 I was one of the tallest in class.
But now, I have been diagnosed with a thyroid condition- it also may stunt your growth.

I'm still young and maybe I hit my growth spirt already but I want to know if I will go like 5'4 or 5'5... that's my goal.

My mother is my height and my father it 5'8 3/4.
Shouldn't range between 5'5?

The doctor told me when I was little that I'd be 5'8 and now they seem to be wrong.
I know I know - don't believe everything they tell you.

But this thyroid thing messed up my hormones and growth- I have an under active thyroid and I lack iodine.

If I take my pills and exercise and eat and drink right at my age- will I grow tall?

I've been taking the pills for about 2 years.
I don't stop because I think it will help my growth??

I'm 14 years old.

And I hate hemming my jeans a whole 2 inches all the time =[

I went to a new gynecologist, because my usual doctor (female) wasn't there.
My worst nightmare was to have a male doctor. Well that day it came true.
It was very uncomfortable. And ontop of that he also did a rectal examination. Is that normal? I have never had that done before and never afterwards.
Why do they do that? What it so different about the rectal and vaginal examniation? Meaning, if they can feel something different...
Anyone else out there who had that done at their anual check up at the gynecologist?

Sory if this sounds lude but I realy am just wondering. If you are ever realy horny, but are sleeping in the same room as someone else (ie. at a sleepover) do/have you ever masturbated? Because, as a guy I sometimes want to but obviously cant because of the obvious movement, but it seems you could just sort of lie on your hand or something. So, have you? What if you are in the same bed as someone else?

I am nearing 23 years old, I have two children, but I would like to ask your opinion. For the past 6-8 weeks, I have been experiencing some abdominal pains, it starts as a constant dull ache which occasionally becomes a horrific sharp pain just around my bikini line, This has also started in my lower back. I have put on weight recently which I am struggling to lose, and I feel constantly bloated. I am using the toilet more than normal to urinate, and I get cramps after sexual intercourse. I am on the depo injection and I know I am not pregnant although I look pregnant. I have had a few abnormal smear results, and I feel a lot of pressure around my vagina. I am not constipated and the abdominal pains last approx 1-2 mins, reaching a peak in pain and then dying off.
Does this sound like it could be fibroids? I know it would be impossible for you to tell me without an examination, I would just like your thoughts.

Oh and sorry for not showing it all earlier!

I'm trying to stave off a urinary tract infection to avoid having to go to the hospital and a friend recommended I add 1 tsp baking soda to the fluids I'm consuming. I'm just wondering - what effects can baking soda have and how much would be too much and make myself sicker? It so far has made the pain tolerable enough to wait to go to the doctor rather than the er - but I don't want to cause other health issues either. Can you suggest any other helpful remedies I can try other than just the basic cranberry juice vitamin C and lots of fluids?

I spotted about 1 week ago also, but it was very little. This one started light yesterday and now it's kind of heavy where I'm wearing a tampon. It's also darker than usual, doesn't look like my normal periods. Should I be concern or could this be my period but just very early? Thank you!!
