Women's Health - December 2006

A fortnight after giving birth my daughter is hospitalised because of severe bleeding [clothes soaking wet] and clots coming away. The medics have her on antibiotics and a drip but don't seem to be too concerned, which to me is surprising because last night it was a blue-light emergency situation.
Can anyone shed some light on a worrying situation?

I want to stay away from any hormonal methods for obvious reasons... Even the mini-pill will negatively affect milk supply. My OB/GYN suggested a copper IUD, but that is too expensive for us.
My husband and I both hate using condoms. So far, we've been relying on breastfeeding as a contraceptive (and also withdrawal) but I know that protection lasts a maximum of 6 months, and that it's not entirely reliable anyway.
So any suggestions?
(Oh yeah... My baby is 3 1/2 months old. She nurses ever 2-3 hours durning the day, and I haven't gotten my period back yet)

I've heard on one hand that they can cause infection, and on the other hand I've heard that it is very unlikely as long as you wash them and shower. Can they cause infection or health problems, and if so how can this be prevented? What are the chances that a thong can create a health issue?

Ok i would like to know that if you had unprotected sex, how long would you wait for your period until you took a test. Ive been very stressed out this past month and i think thats why i missed my period. It is 3 days late. Could it just be stress. How long should i wait until i took a pregnancy test

i took the pill with the arrows the wrong way up, anyway dont matter now, just that i dont remember exactley wot day i took my last as i have left it 7 days as you do to start a new pack. And obviousley you are ment to have a period after the last pill in the pack, well i have only just started my period again and i think i should have started it before. is this normal. So basically i am going to take my first pill of the new pack but not sure if it is the 6, 7 or 8 days i have left it. What is the best thing to do in this case. in i messed up, and how can you go wrong you ask yourself, but i have lol. wots best to do now

It happened yesterday, and it doesn't hurt, but it's disconcerting, and I don't know what to do to get it out. I really don't want to go to the hostpital. any bright ideas? It's about 4 inches up there, so it's just out of reach of my fingers, but I can just barely confirm that it's still there.

The only reason I dont eat as much as them ,is because I portion what I eat. And my sister eats more than me, but she excercises. I dont. So I keep my intake low, so I dont gain weight. Is this wrong?

First of all, I have never had sex. My boyfriend has been down in that area before, but he's never entered. Is it still possible for me to get pregnant becuase of precum? I had a teacher who said that she got pregnant even though the guy pulled out. i had a mammograme and an ultrasound on wednesday,and the specialist said it was the same thing that i had on two previous occasions.he calles them simple cysts.he assparated it and i saw it dissaprear.it looked like a black hole ,he also said i had many more baby ones ,but he didnt do any thing to them..i felt another very small one today very near where the other one was can you please reassue me that this is ok please ,thanks for taking the time to read this question.

I have my period today, and I have small cramps, and I have to go do community service at 12:30 to 4. I please dont ask for medicine or anything. i have no time really, and i had tynenol. i just want to know what i can do to get me awake. i seem to fall over and sleep when i walk around. and i have to go to this place.

Im in state of confusion, my wife just give birth this late august. Due to her cervix that refused to expand after twice being induce and 14hrs of waiting in the labour ward, she had to go thru the emergency c - section. recently, she suffered from internal pain on her left side of her tummy. We visited her gynae,the doctor that performed the operation and all she was given is the pain killer in which doesnt even stop her pain. Im a bit worried about this. I dont know whether i needed to go the hospital for a thorough check up or just maintain consulting the gynae.

Why and when did we start to care about women's reproductive health? Who pioneered the push forward?

I know that physicans were reluctant to usually look at a woman's body due to the scandel associated with a woman's reproductive organs, but I want to know why and how it was started in the first place. Why did men all of a sudden care?

I tend to have very short orgasms and quick climaxes during intercourse - i hate it cos i can't control it and next thing you know it's over. I have much better orgasms with just clitoral stimulation and they last longer. Does anybody else get this, gotten this ? Does it get better the more practise you get ?.. I'm 16, and since i was 14 i haven't grown any taller, changed dress or bra size. I'm very slim and straight all over and I'm wondering if I've finished growing. I got my period when I was 11.
Is this normal? I'm worried. All my friends continue to grow but not me. iIdon't want to stay this way forever. I look like a kid.

Hey any help will be great. I came off the pill in july, i no that it talks a whie for periods to get back to normal, so then i got them in october but its now dec and i havent gotten another one and i want to go back on the pill. how long will it take until i get anther period? Okay... well i had two positives on a test and then one neagative a week after but i had all the prgnancy symtoms and i had sex sooo many time and its been five months and i took another test from the dolla store and it showed up negative but i didnt take it in the morning though. And my stomach looks like its bloating out and everytime i go to the bathroom , my stomach goes down and my stomach just feels hard. i dont look like im showing then but then ill eat alot and then i think i am because of how far my stomach pokes out. then i be wondering if its time that im starting to show. I am a very slim person and only wiegh 110 lbs. this would be my first pregnancy. can anybody give me some good advices or tell me if this is happening to you.
