A SIMPLE CYST IS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT AND MANY WOMEN THEMSELVES HAVE A TENDENCY TO HAVE CYSTS IN THEIR BREASTS.
THE OTHER POSITIVE THING ABOUT THE CYSTS IS THAT THEY ARE 'SIMPLE' - THAT IS TO SAY THAT THEY CONSIST OF ONE CHAMBER AND ARE NOT COMPLEX.
IF THE CYSTS WAS 'MULTI-LOCULATED' THIS WOULD MEAN THERE ARE SEVERAL CHAMBERS IN THE CYST AND THAT WOULD BE SOMETHING THAT WOULD REQUIRE MORE SERIOUS INVESTIGATION, BUT COULD STILL BE NORMAL.
THE CAUSE OF THE CYSTS IS HORMONAL. THE BREASTS, OVARIES AND WOMB ARE CONNECTED HORMONALLY SPEAKING AND JUST AS THE WOMB AND OVARIES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE DURING THE MONTHLY CYCLE, SO ARE THE BREASTS. SOME PEOPLE ARE MORE SENSITIVE TO THE HORMONES THAN OTHERS AND SO THE SYMPTOMS CAN RANGE FROM PAIN TO CYST FORMATION.
I VERY MUCH DOUBT THIS IS ANYTHING TO WORRY ABOUT, BUT CONTINUE WITH CHECKING YOURSELF REGULARLY FOR LUMPS AND BUMPS BOTH IN THE BREAST AND IN THE ARM-PIT BECAUSE ONE DAY, IT WILL BE SOMETHING TO WORRY ABOUT AND NO DOCTOR IN THE WORLD WOULD WANT YOU TO IGNORE IT OR HESITATE GETTING HELP BECAUSE YOU'RE THINKING YOU'RE PESTERING THEM OR SOMESUCH.
RELAX, CHILL OUT, BUT BE VIGILANT.

Simple cysts in your breasts. OK. Is this diagnosis made by the sonologist or the surgeon? Anyway apart from the ultrasonography, the clinical findings are of importance. If the lumps are soft and movable and disappearing after a time, they are most probably benign cysts. You should do self -exam everyday to get reassured the size and softness of the lumps are not changing. A general surgeon would be of help to teach you the examination and for following up them.

I am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse. These are harmless but it means that your immune system is down so I recommend to all my patients to take echinacea and garlic (odourless) capsules to build it up, You take garlic all year round but echinacea during the winter months. I also think you should have a blood test to rule out anything more serious

If he can aspirate fluid from the cyst, then it's generally benign. Malignant growths do not generally have a fluid center. I'm not a professional, but I went through this with my sister, and that's what the doc told her. If you need reassurance, call your doctor and have him explain further to you - after all, that's what you pay for!!

If you're still concerned, why don't you contact NHS direct (if you are in the UK). I've called them a couple of times and found them really helpful.
