sometimes a heating pad works, place it where ever you feel the pain. but you just have to sit there and wait until the pain stops. i use midol, and it works really good.. it takes like 10 minutes for it to kick in, and it last a few hours.

When women get cramps it's because the uterus is contracting and trying to expel it's contents just as in childbirth. A wonderful way to diminish the cramping is to (don't laugh! it really works!)
masturbate. The orgasm is more intense and it relieves the cramping. Also, Tylenol sux when it comes to cramping, try Aleve. That is the best thing since peanut butter!

Your probably feeling a bit anemic (from blood loss) -- caffeine is a short term fix but realize that it may make your cramps worse.

For future periods, try drinking raspberry leaf tea right away (not raspberry flavoured tea). It will make your cramping less as well as your flow lighter. You shouldn't feel so tired then.

You can by heating pads that you stick on (Thermacare)
Chewable calcium pills believe it or not also help cramps. Stay away from sugary things like soda (s) or desserts they will make you cramp more. The new pamaprin is also super.
