I am getting myself all creeped out. I am self diagnosing on the net. Is it normal to have blood sugar levels that are going to highs and to lows over the period of a few days?? Would this mess with your body and make you all wacked out and seem like you are drunk all the time?? I thought at first I was hypo and then i wake up and have levels that are high!! I can't figure it out. Any information would be helpful. I keep thinking I have something worse b/c I won't rely on the blood sugar, I keep thinking it is something else wrong.

Okay I'm a little germaphobic and I just came back from a sleepover with two other girls and one went home because she got sick. Does this sound like food poisong or a virus?

Here are the details:
her dad was sick monday
Her brother was sick yesterday
her mom was sick today
and now she's sick
she has two other sisters who have yet to be sick

now here's why my dad thinks it was food poisonig:
she seemed perfetly normal untill after we ate a snack then she looked sick and vomited with in half an hour. if it was a virus wouldn't of she felt sick? she only threw up once before she went home

I don't know of anyone outside of her family that caught it

please what do you think? I am scared to death I'm gonna catch it.

More details:
About 30-45 min before she was sick she was complaining that she was hungry

my dad thinks that maybe like they were all drinking out of a bad milk carton at seperate times or something like that.

How many people actually take what other people say regarding health issues as gospel here.?
Even though there is some genuine and honest answers
Its a Scary thought that some bugger could take wrong advice literally. And could that hold Yahoo responsible?

About 6 months ago, I noticed something wrong with the hearing in my right ear. Doctors found nothing, but an audiologist test found something wrong with my left ear. I havn't gotten any further then knowing just that.

I have been to at least 3 different doctors, been to a ENT specialist and gotten both a CAT scan and an MRI scan and dcotors have found nothing.

I also feel as if fluid is trapped in my right ear alot as well as the sensation it might be blocked. I get a clicking noise in my left ear, usually when I'm talking or walking really fast. I also have a few more symptoms but I don't know what they are exactly. When I listen to my music on my headphones, my left ear is a bit quiet whilst my right ear sounds blocked.

I doubt this information would help but I had attempted suicide a few weeks before all this with an overdose of paracetamol tablets and think that might of contributed to it.

P.S I didn't listen to my music loudly before this.

My GYN thinks I have hypothalamic pituitary failure after a workup to determine why I stopped have periods. I believe I may have some thyroid involvement as well.

What type of doctor should I see to work up this problem? These glands are so important in maintaing 100's of normal bodily functions and they all work intimately together to create a find balance of chemicals and hormones. I would like to find a doctor that truly understands the complexity. I don't think my PCP or GYN are cut out for the task.

i am damn serious abt this....i have been wondering abt it right frm childhood...if i ever earn enough money, i will appoint a team of scientists to research on the reason behind this phenomenon and also on how the energy released through a fart can be harnessed for the benefit of mankind. Logical answers will be appreciated.

I had a big toothache 2 days ago, and I have to get a root canal done, but I put it off. I have been getting pain in my ear (left) and then I started to get a sore jaw, which turned out to be a lymph node the nurse practitioner said.

I also developed over night.. a small tear inside my mouth, on the left side, near where the tooth that needs to be root canaled is. I asked for amoxicillan, even tho she didnt think I should be alarmed. Also I had told her about ear pain before, a week ago and she checked but said that my ears looked "normal".

This morning I couldnt lie on my left side of face.. I had to lie on my back or right side. I am starting to take the amoxicillan.

What do you think? Any answers will be appreciated. its still sore when I swallow as the lymph node feels swollen on the inside, not enough to show, and i have the tear in my mouth.

I just had a 20 week anomaly ultrasound scan during my pregnancy. I had a lot things on my mind at the time and didn't think to ask there and then if it was normal that I was feeling heat on my skin on the site where the probe/transducer was touching it.

Is this normal? Or were they using too high a (dangerous) intensity/frequency?

Am rather worried as can't find anywhere on the web that during ultrasound one can experience heat at the site of probe gliding over the skin! Only discomfort mentioned is a full bladder being pressed - not the heat.

Anyone else experience heat on the site of probe touching the skin during an ultrasound scan?

I hope the scan was perfomred correcrtly and didn't harm me/baby!

Thanks!

Pilonidal cysts occur more in men than in women but I am "lucky" enough to have one. I am 23 and I experienced intense pain in the tailbone area about 2 years ago. I thought it was due to an old tailbone injury (I broke my tailbone when I was 16 and it never properly healed). I would experience frequent pain in the years after my injury and could never sit down for very long or sit a certain way because it would hurt. I just summed it up to the injury until it started to drain. There was really smelly stuff coming from that area and I decided to see a doctor because the pain didnt go away like it always did before. He said it was a cyst and had to be lanced and drained. He also said I could opt for surgery once the infection was healed but should wait because surgery may be avoidable if the pain does not recur. For a couple weeks, my mom had to change my bandages and it was the most excruciating pain I have ever endured (even worse than child birth!)

I found several pills in my friends room just sitting out in the open. The are larger yellow pills with a capital V imprinted on them. Does anybody know what they might be? If you have any questions please dont hesitate to ask.
