For reasons I can't explain I have always overslept. Being a teenager it was no problem because just about every teenager on the planet did it. But now I'm almost 24, have had a job for roughly a year and my life is coming together. Except now I REALLY oversleep. Even as I write this I've had about 12 hours of sleep or so, and thats about average for me right now. I have four alarm clocks in my room, including my cell phone, and I always manage to subconsciously get up, turn them off, and go back to bed. My girlfriend even calls me to wake me up but most of the time I don't even remember her calling. I've never missed a day of work but I know it's going to happen. I want to get up early so I have more time to do things, like study for the driving exam or do some much-needed yard work. It'd rather hit this problem before it grows too big to handle. So if anyone has any suggestions I'd like to hear 'em. Maybe this is a medical condition and I'm not aware of it.

It was strange...I went for a consultation, they checked my eyes and prescription of my glasses. The normal stuff I guess.

After waiting for another 20-30 minutes, I was finally brought into another room. The doctor started by telling me my corneas were something like -5 and I had a stigmatism of something like 3 in my right eye and 6 in my left and that LASIK and Intralase were probably out.

Then he started telling me about PRK and how that could work around the cornea problem but then he checked the chart again and saw that my pupils weren't 6.5 mm but rather 8.5 mm and suddenly all bets were off.

I fully plan on getting a 2nd and 3rd opinion before I abandon hope but I admit I walked out soon after writing down the numbers and was wondering if anyone out there can help me out or just tell me to wait like the doctor did.

I'm 23 years old if that helps so maybe technology will catch up...

I am. Both of my parents smoke. The whole house smells. I never want to come home because when I walk in the door I can't breathe. I've tried yelling, talking, compromising. Nothing works. They say "I know, I'm sorry" and are back at it in 5 minutes. I don't know how otherwise good parents could be so selfish about this? I have serious asthma and allergy problems. They could be killing me either through cancer or by making my asthma too bad one of these days, but it means nothing. I hate to say it, but in this way, they disgust me. Anyone else have this problem? No offense to other smokers.

My 20-month old son is a bright kid. He is really smart in that he identifies objects, alphabets, numbers etc really fast. He understands words and also the context in which they are used. The problem is he is not able to identify colors. We have been trying to teach him colors but looks like that he cannot distinguish colors. Not a single color!! W e are really worried....shouldn't a 20-month old at least recognize basic colors like red, green etc? And especially if he is smart, healthy and active otherwise. What's wrong with him?

Hi All,

I need to hire several MDs as advisors. Several of my clients are facing complex medical decisions and would liek to pay for an unbiased advisor. The doctors and the insurance companies they deal with have a bias so they are looking for a third party source that can give proper advice. Do you think there are ex-doctors out there that are willing to do this for a fee ? If so how much would they charge per hour ? I need experts in geriatrics, oncology, neurology.

thnx
