Go to the doctor. Prolonged inflammation response could lead to cardiovascular problems.

Your broken tooth is probably because of an abscess. I had filling that broke last year as I was eating a spring roll. Spring rolls are relatively soft so I was amazed that my tooth could have broken but, the cause was a root canal that was not done properly. There was space at the end of the root that was not cleaned out. An infection formed. This led to a reverse root canal (they had to dig out the filling) and a crown. It cost me 2000.00 out of pocket after insurance. This is with good insurance. Until you can get the doctor take a pain medicine that you know you can tolerate and drink plenty of fluids.

If you can't afford to go to the dentist or are without insurance there might be resources in your local that charge based on your pay scale. Dental work is one of the most expensive things I've ever had to pay for in regards to health care. Hopefully whatever your situation might be you are able to take care of that tooth relatively quickly.

Take Care,
Cristy

If the nerve in your broken tooth is exposed, it can very well be the cause of your pain. I'd see a dentist if I were you. If you let it get infected you'll have a lot more trouble and costs.

Sounds like your broken tooth is infected -- see a dentist immediately. If your dentist can't see you, go to your nearest emergency room. You need antibiotics and to have that tooth extracted!

Put an ice bottle on it immediately, then put a teabag on it.
Take some motrin for inflamation.
Take enchinechea for infection.
