I am. Both of my parents smoke. The whole house smells. I never want to come home because when I walk in the door I can't breathe. I've tried yelling, talking, compromising. Nothing works. They say "I know, I'm sorry" and are back at it in 5 minutes. I don't know how otherwise good parents could be so selfish about this? I have serious asthma and allergy problems. They could be killing me either through cancer or by making my asthma too bad one of these days, but it means nothing. I hate to say it, but in this way, they disgust me. Anyone else have this problem? No offense to other smokers.

I was in the emergency room for shortness of breathe and my mom was called to come and pick me up. I got in the car after I was released and my mom's boyfriend starts smoking. I asked him to stop and got yelled at because I had to go to the hospital. The reason why I was having trouble breathing, although not then but later, was due to my thyroid being swollen. He never put the cigerette down and never opened any windows. So, yes, I understand about your situation. That was years ago and now I dont have to put up with it. I still have the condition and my mom still smokes. - Go figure.

Do you have any family members you could stay with? I am a smoker unfortunately but never smoke indoors no matter what. It is very unhealthy to smoke but even worse on those who don't. Second hand smoke has been linked to lung cancer so you may want to ask your parents to smoke outside for your own health. Also, my parents smoked in the house when I was young and I blame them for me being a smoker today. Don't ever start.

Could you try having your doctor talk to them? I heard that they are considering it child abuse to smoke around a minor. Especially that you have asthma. My kids doc would rip me up if I smoked around my kids. You could try and call the doc, and maybe he'd talk to them. You definetly shouldn't be around the smoke. Feel sorry for ya kid.

Since my parents care about me, they smoked outside when I lived with them. They obviously don't care about you. You should move or burn down the house and blame it on their smoking.
