My friend often gets quite angry and like punches walls. She hasnt cut herself or anything, but when she gets angry....who knows what could happen it the future?? does anyone know of any other ways she can let her aggression out, with out actually hurting herself?? I think she just gets really frustrated

I started taking boxing classes and going to Tae Bo regularly when I felt like that. I also went to seek treatment and got medicated.
This has been years ago, and my treatment has continued, along with the boxing. I did the self-harm thing, so it was a similar situation. However, when I went for help I also found out a few other things that I wasn't aware of (I have BPD). I am now enjoying the happiest and most stress-free part of my life thanks to it. Not many people know this about me, but speaking about it makes me feel a heck of a lot better. I get to share my experiences and possibly help someone who otherwise (might) be lost. We all have our bad days, some just worse or more obvious than others. Just be there for her, and maybe head to the gym, a batting cage, or anything similar. Trust me, you'll have fun, get your mind off (and get rid of some) of the aggression, and be rewarded in the process. Take care. :)

how much did you really know about this peerson before you met? human beings all have different reaaasons to look out of control only because nobody had to deal with the same things.
listen carefully, not so much at the words but only to understand where to start helping her, sometimes people yell shut the +++ up, because the never kneew they werre heard at all. the only way they could stop was yelling or being violent.
if she's on meds. you can check that way too.
what ever way you want to try, she's already in trouble and still needs help.
remember, trying to help another person is still an investment of your self.
with this, as honestly put as i have, now you too must decide how much of an investment do you want to make to help change this person's life.

Well actually i can't say she has issues, i know someone close who cuts herself but it a wonderful girl with a nice personality. She hasn't found a proper alternative cuz when she gets real mad feeling pain takes all her energy away. i suggest maybe punching other things like a pillow, writing, crying or shouting out load, talking to someone, or even maybe dancing. the concept is the same, when your angry you have a lot of energy you need to get rid of, so anything healthy that can help her do that.

She should consider taking up boxing or invest in a punching bag. It will be a lot easier on her knuckles. It would allow her to work through her aggression in a more productive manner.

She should take up martial arts. It will teach her self control and well as an outlet for her aggression.

I think she needs 'anger management'-seriously. she might just be acting out, but she still needs to talk to someone about that.
