Hi, I am a 21 year old female college student. I never got a meningitis vaccine, but I've been advised I should, so I'm going to. Do insurances generally cover this type of vaccine, or no? If they don't, do you think it will be cheaper at my school or with my general physician? I have blue cros/ blue shield PPO insurance through my dad's work- UPS.

Also, is there any other vaccines I need, or would beneficial for me to get at this time/age? I got all my childhood vaccines, but I really don't know when's the last time I had a tetnus shot or any hepatitis vaccines, or even if I need more...and I've moved around a lot in the past, so I'm not entirely sure how to find that stuff out.

I've heard about the HPV vaccine, but I'm kind of wary of it being so new and all.

Thanks for any advice or tips.

..other than eating. In school, I eat a snack at break but by the time it is 5th period (before lunch) my stomach is like a storm! And when I take tests, it is so distracting to have my stomach gurgling the entire time. Any techniques on how to somehow stop this?

I have forgotten the name of this type of worm that kids (usualy) tend to get:

Symptoms include the scratching of the bum (usualy at night - whilst the eggs are being layed), the worms are short and found in feces.

I cant find it online... I dont think i am talking about ribbon or tape worms but i could be wrong...

Thanks!

My sister went to the ER because she was having a miscarriage and the nurses were acting like it wasn't life threatening. They didn't care and said that it wasn't considered a medical emergency and almost purposely dropped my sister on the floor. The doctor was a little rude, but he looked tired. My aunt also went to the ER for chest pains and again they said that it wasn't a medical emergency. What is considered a medical emergency that you could go to the ER with?

I am male and at age 15, I received two injections of testosterone to treat delayed development (I had not started puberty at age 15). Anyway, I was told (at the time) that my height and weight were both below the 3rd percentile for my age group. I am afraid I do not know the exact diagnosis, but I do remember the doctor (an endocrinologist) saying that he believed I had enough testosterone and that it had not “kicked in” yet.

I am wondering if the endocrinologist might have missed something because my height and weight were both below the 3rd percentile for my age group and that seems rather extreme. Yet, I was apparently just a late bloomer.

I mean, if my IQ were below third percentile, they would not be calling me slow; they would be feeding me through a tube. 3rd percentile seems extreme. My guess is that there must be at least one other factor that would explain why I was far below the average height and weight rather than just somewhat below average. Any ideas?

I'm just curious because I live in a small aussie town and I am not sure how bad this drug problem is here yet. I am interested in what it does to the drug users and what it does to the look of the town effected including its economy.
