I have the honor in telling the world, that after 47 yrs.....yes, 47, my Mother was able to quit smoking with the help of Chantix. What a Christmas present!! She tried to quit before..you know "the patch"....tried again after a brain aneurysm at 49, which left her without the sense of smell, (could have been a lot worse). She has been smoking since the age of 13...cool back then--yeah right. When I was growing up and even the times of visiting her as a adult, the one thing that I dreaded was smelling like a burnt butt. "Butt" no more....within 3 wks. she did it!!!
P.S. Just wanted to tell my story....really don't care if it gets a "Best Answer".....I'm so proud of my Mom, and I just had to let you know. Happy Holidays.

A co-worker used Chantix and it seemed to work for her. She did not smoke for months but she quit taking it and then when a crisis hit she started smoking again. I do not think that everyone who uses it and quits will revert back to old habits though. It is up to you to make the decision to not smoke forever even after you stop any type of drug or assistive device to quit. I am getting ready to quit very soon myself so I wish you all the luck!

I had real good luck with the zyban. I have been smokeing for over 25 years. I tried hypnosis, accupunture, the patch, the gum, everything I could think of. With all of them I craved within hours, and started smoking again within days. With the Zyban I didnt crave at all, it was a matter of breaking the habbit in which I used sunflower seeds, and toothpics. Now granted, I started smoking again in 9 weeks, but I had some other stressers involved, and have no self control. Plus I enjoy smoking. I am about to stop again, and going on the Zyban and going to try to avoid the stress. I one that doesnt believe its the nickitine as much as breaking the habbit. If you cant keep the anxiety levels down while trying to quit a stimulant it always gonna fail. Good Luck, I feel your pain... 10 Points?

Several friends at work smoke Chantix. I tried rolling it in a joint but it doesn't burn well. It seems to work best when you load it in a pipe.
