I tend to keep eye drops for much longer that a month, but the packaging advises that one should discard of it after a month, some say three weeks. Is this a marketing spiel? If not, why do they recommend such a thort time period?

Hi, I've got infected glands and tonsilitis (I look like a bullfrog :p), does anyone have any ideas to stop my neck from aching, or just my glands? I've been prescribed pennicilin V and am taking ibuprofen for the pain, neither of these seem to be giving me any relief. I constantly feel tired too, I'm 16, any suggestions?

I'm not sure if they actually cross. Have you ever looked at one of those 3D pictures, where the longer you stare, the more you see it? That's what my eyes keep doing, and I can see 3D stuff in a snap, without even trying. Even if it's not 3D, it looks like it is, and sometimes I see more than double. It's especially worse when I'm sleepy. Sometimes it gets so bad, I can hardly control it. I keep shaking my head and looking away, but it just comes right back. I had a very mild form of lazy eye when I was a kid, and I'm 49 now. Is that lazy eye? I'm wondering if it's a valid reason to pay a visit to an eye doctor, or if it's just something that happens at my age? I do have a few diseases: fibromyalgia, degenerative disk disease, compressed vertabrae, herniated disk, poly neuropathy and some other stuff. Any ideas are appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Do you have a lap band and it doesn't work? I have had mine for almost a year now and have only lost 10 pounds. Please do not give me an answer with a lecture in it (i.e., it is not a miracle, it is just a tool!) I just want to know if anyone else out there hates it just as much as me. I hate the fact that I wasted my money. And I hate the fact that I get sick all the time and have nothing to show for it. Please only answer if you know what a lap band is.

I work in an ER in a small town. We are a branch of a much larger hosptial in a larger neighboring town. We see people every night with the diagonsis of pharyngitis, or sinusitus, or otitis meida, or conjunctivitis. (In lay terms thats a sore throat, or stuffy nose, or ear ache, or pink eye.) These people get quite upset that they sometimes have to wait longer because people come in with chest pain (and they are having a heart attack) or their arm is bent in a place it isn't supposed to be bent, or a woman only 22 weeks pregnant and in labor and these people are seen before them. What is their definition of an Emergency Room? We are not a doctor's office or the local county Health Department. And then when they check out without insurance they are shocked that they are asked to pay the bill. What is the mentality here? I just don't get it...

my girlfriend obviously has food poisoning. and its slowly getting worse. she ate the food around 7-10 hours ago.

Is there any way to stop this from getting worse. or at least helping her ease through it so its not so bad.....

and how bad can this get. should she go to the hospital???
i have had food poisoning before but i survived without the doc. even though it was hell. i survived.

I know this question is based more on my genetic makeup or whatever and stuff like that, but still. I'm 14 and I'm only about 5'3", my mom is pretty short she's about 5'2" but my dad is about 6'1" or something around there. I've never had any big growth spurts at all, and I only grew about 2 inches between now and 3 years ago. I really want to be taller!!!! I'm hoping that I'm not done growing yet, because I also still have my "baby" hands and feet and certain features as my mom says, and I still haven't lost my "baby weight".

I am having pain under my right shoulder blade, right under my breast plate and all throughout my stomach (mainly right above and below my navel. I have a little pain on my groin area. This pain started 2 days ago and I still have it. Some other problems I have are I cant lie on my stomach or side or I am in excruciating pain and this is how I always lay down. I dont have an appetite at all, I have constipation and my pass through is usually easy and fast and it hurts when I try to eat or even breath. I felt spasms when I was breathing yesterday. It hurts when I stand up straight. What can be my problem and is it something that I need to have looked at ASAP? I am a 23 year old woman and I do smoke a pack to a pack and a half of cigarettes a day. If anyone knows anything and what this could be please let me know. I have been searching the net to find out what it is because I am one that hates going to the hospital unless absolutely necessary.Please help me!!!
