that answered a lot of my questions.... its mainly showing that the macdonalds is not healthy (duh!?) and also shows american small meals are equal to britsh large meals, quite bizare and seems to extend through many reseraunts there.

I agree with most of the answerers, it's a sedentary lifestyle, which, unfortunately has been passed on over here since 1973 and resulting of a few of us Brits being fatties too.
With the introduction of the McDonalds, Burger King, Pizza Hut and the like, plus imported habits, Yanks are not the only ones who are fat.

Trace the history of capitalism and you will see. From a self sufficient nation to one that swallows up more resources than the Earth can provide. Americans have a lot of greed, and their selfishness will not let them see the damage they are doing to themselves and the world. Of course, not all Americans are like this, but a large amount of them are, and anyone who has moulded their culture on the American Dream will also display these characteristics. The proliferation of fast food, and the bottom line of making profit over human misery are the main culprits here.

This psychology, with abundance of food, leads to overeating. Coupled with insufficient exercise- this is all a ready made mixture for obesity.

A dollar isnt worth much in the US since alot of jobs arent very physically demanding....

Being fat usually stems from one of two things, Ignorance (not being aware or educated on the concequences of the food you consume) or just being simply lazy.. (therefore a lack of exercise or being to slack to prepare food which is good for you)..

my mate went there on hols once
he said you go to a resterant & order then when the plate comes it is stacked realy high with grup allso if you order drinks wit a meal when the cup is empty they refill it and this is all for one price!
mad en it know wonder they are fat!
this is proberbly why they need big gas gusserler cars

Because we are high-strung, lazy, addicted to computers, depressed, over-worked, underpaid, just plain scared of everything, have the worst eating habits in the world, in a nutshell the mentality is GIVE ME CONVENIENCE OR GIVE ME DEATH! To summerize we take pride in idiocy.
