I did about a year and a half ago. I had strep throat, the first er doc misdiagnosed me and gave some antibiotics that didn't work, 3 days later I was back in so sick I could barely walk, and without health insurance. The doctor told me the medicine would be very expensive so because I didn't have much money at the time he had me sign a waiver and he gave me a shot of penicillin. It worked and I was fine within a day. He did say most doctors don't give those out nowadays, because of the risk of allergic reactions, lawsuits etc. If you need one, just ask your doc if you can sign a waiver/release or get a second opinion.

I do every year. I get pneumonia about twice a year and my doctor always gives me a shot and antibiotics. It really helps. Just ask your doctor. Good luck and good health.

Our Dr. will still give them. My mom had one in her bum last year! Seriously!
