Do you have a lap band and it doesn't work? I have had mine for almost a year now and have only lost 10 pounds. Please do not give me an answer with a lecture in it (i.e., it is not a miracle, it is just a tool!) I just want to know if anyone else out there hates it just as much as me. I hate the fact that I wasted my money. And I hate the fact that I get sick all the time and have nothing to show for it. Please only answer if you know what a lap band is.

My mother has had it for about 1 1/2 years and she has lost over 60 lbs and at the moment is staying at a decent weight. She looks great! You have to go back and get it re-filled she says, or else you will never lose weight with it. I wish I could get one but then again, I like food and my mom can't eat and drink at the same time so that seems hard too... It also depends where you get it at... I know my mom went to a legit place (in the United States where the specialize it, not in Mexico where it is cheap). Have you had it re-filled? I'd go speak with your lap band doctor right away, less than ten lbs in a year is not very good!

I just want to thank you for your opinion, because I was very close to having this procedure done. 10 lbs. in a year certainly doesn't sound worth it.

10lbs in a year is brilliant
they say the slower you loose weight the longer you keep it off
personally, weight loss has more to do with looking after yourself and prob. eating less & exercising more, but whatever works for you is great
