Obviously, it's bad to breathe gas and it's smell should automatically make you back off... Have these people just breathed in too deeply too many times at the gas station, etc... and gotten addicted? Poison shouldn't be an attractive smell! Also, does this mean their sense of smell is actually damaged or that some wires are crossed somewhere?

Hello guys,

about 8 years ago..I suddenly realized that I had lost my sense of smell... I can't remember how I lost my sense of smell though (whether it was instant or gradual). My taste was fine now I can't smell perfume, and don't smell smoke and worrie whether or not I have bad breath or body odor.I alwasys have to ask my brother to smell my clothes to see if they needed washing because I can't tell. I went to an ear, nose, throat doctor and gave me alot of medicines and a nose spray to try, called nasacort, twice a day,which makes no difference at all. although, I'm not gonna do it, now my doctor asked me to try a surgery, and he also told me that there is no a guarantee for it. I dont think now I can do anything about it.
I was just wondering if anyone of you have this experience, or know some one who has/had. or if you guys know someone who recover from it. Any suggestions on doing any more testing, etc.? It gets really frustrating.

I gave my doctor the OK to set up knee surgery around the 1st of next year and I want to know how you prepared for the surgery, how you dealt with the pain after surgery, and what rehab was like for you!

I know I should be asking my doctor these questions but I'm looking for first hand experience and I can only get that from someone who has gone through this procedure!

Thanks a bunch for your input...it will help me get through my anxiety of my pending surgery because I just can't live with the pain any more!
