Ok I want to gain weight, but the problem is I'm a veggie and also I have a very fast metabolism. I'm rly skinny it annoys the heck out of me. I have no problem in saying this I only weigh 100 pounds that's it. No I do not have any eating disorder. So any suggestions?

This is no more than theory, but I've encountered a few medical mysteries. This one has been the biggest one.

Everything I've read says that all cold sores are caused by the Herpes Simplex virus. This is another piece of info I've found: "Herpes is a DNA-type virus, inserting its DNA directly into the dendritic nerve endings of the skin, which then leads along nerve fibers to the nucleus of the nerve cell. Once the viral information is inserted into the cell's nucleus, this blending of viral genetic information with human genetic information is permanent."

What are the chances that somehow this form of genetic blending could spread to the point of reproduction?

Now for the reason I'm asking. My husband should have Herpes... transmittable to anyone who gets in contact with one of his sores. But so far it only seems to be transmittable genetically. His father was the first, not transmitting to either of his wives (there was a divorce in between). -(more info soon)-

hey guys. about 3 weeks ago, i sprained my ankle from skateboarding while ollieing a 3 stair. now i can walk and kinda run, and wearing an ankle brace. what's a good and fast way to cure it so i can get back to skating again. thanks.

I went to see an Opthalmologist who said I had Conjunctivitis. I was prescribed eye drops and the problem subsided.

I am now having pain and irritation again, and have noticed there is an area which extends from next to my nose - under my eye - to about an inch above the corner of my mouth that seems to be swollen. It is hard, and is pretty thin. My eye seems to be dried out and is smaller than the other.

I thought it may have been from a tooth problem, but, I went to my dentist who seems to feel that this is not a concern. I do have some pain in the tooth, but not very much.

I also have a lump on the right side of my head just above my ear. This lump extends from near my temple to just above my ear and is area which is about 2 - 3 inches. I have went to a doctor who mentioned Lymphadenopathy. I was prescribed Amoxyclillin and it seemed to go down, but it is now bigger again. I have finished the anibiotics. I also have a lot of itching above the lump area.

i have been under strict watch for a year my last test shows neg for everything. Now today I got a positive for meth.So i retested and got positive for meth and barbituates.first test today showed neg barbituates 15 min. later positive.how is this possible?I have taken no allergy meds( but am getting a kidney infection do to to much coffee)i take qvar inhailer ,albuteral ,zantac ,motrin ,& organic multi vitimin.

My skin has developed a greenish colour. I'm thinking it could be one of many things.

a. I'm turning into the incredible hulk
b. I'm turning into gumby
c. I'm radio active because of all my gadgets
d. somehting in my diet. (i'm dieting and eating a lot of salad)

What are the causes of this greeness in my skin? Is it my diet? What should I eat or not eat?

ps. Despite the references to the hulk, gumby and radio-activity, this is actually a serious question. Although it would be cool if I was the hulk.

My daughters is 11 years old and latety has had a sore wrist, her doctor did lab and xray. Lab came back normal but with strep showing up, but the doctor was looking for Juvenile R Arthritis. So today we saw a rhemetoligest he spend an hour telling us that it could still be JRA but at it earlist so not detected in the blood yet. Then he said from the xray that they could see some air pocket or calcifacation or something(he was a little hard to understand). He gave us a splint with a cold pack in it for sleeping and anti-inflamatory narporsyn. He said with any luck this will resolve itself by taking it easy that posibly it could have just been strained. What in the world is all the fuss about this? I just took her in for a sore wrist? Should I worry or should I just settle down I don't know how to feel.

My Father has had a stroke and he knows all of us, however he is paralized on the right side. He is having difficulty swallowing because of this and he is trying to talk to us. He mumbles words, but for the most part we cannot understand him. He'll say a whole sentence and use expressions, but the words are all the same when they come out. We want to know what he needs and if he could spell with magnetic alphabet letters. I don't know if he can translate to spelling or not. Pray for us, he is trying so very hard. Any good ideas that folks have tried in the past maybe, would be a blessing for us. He's insulted when we ask him things, however it's all very new (3 weeks ago, Aug 4, 2006) PT's & OT's are working with him in the Nursing Home. He is 85 years old. Thanks to all! God Bless

I'm curious if anyone would know what the cause of this would be. My wife's son seems to cough after laying down for an hour or so, so much so, that sometimes he will vomit. This doesn't happen every night and his temputure is normal and he's very healthly. I'm just curious why he'll have these coughing spells. After he vomits (if he vomits), he's fine, perfect, having fun, running around doing his normal thing. Also what is weird is that she sleeps with him in her bed, when this coughing spell happens, however, sometimes she'll remove him from the bed and bring him out to the living room, lay out a soft blanket and if he's still asleep when she moves him he'll just continue to sleep with no problems. Anyone ever experience this with their children?

Could it be:

An ear infection?
Allergy?
Pneumonia?

Normal responses will be take him to the doctor, I understand this and she is on Thursday but before she does I just wanted to ask if anyone has ever experienced this?
