yawning is explained through different ideas.
one idea is that yawning is a social trigger.
meaning yawning can show boredom and that the other person should adapt to keep up with the other's interest.
people are social beings. people want to maintain positive relationships. its a signal to the other person.
yawning also signals to the person who does the yawning of lack of energy. The person who sees someone yawning is reminded about their own state. seeing someone else tired, may tend the person to remember how tired they are.
exact causes are not known although there are various theories....you can look that up =)

No, I didn't yawn, but almost did. Interesting.

I knew that our body responds to "signals" like coughing and clearing the troat set off by others doing so. I thought it was done without any consious processing, just a reflex. Interestingly enough, it works well through consience, too! Clearly, I didn't SEE you yawn. I saw the written words and yawned.

But I digress. I guess our bodies just like to stretch. We are sretching our jaw lol.

2 seconds later: look what have you done, little brat. Now I can't stop yawning!

A yawn is because the body needs extra oxygen...

A yawn is a change in pressure. People pick up that pressure change coming out of someone else and they yawn too.

Could be totally wrong though.

Yawning is not contageous. Yawning shows lack of oxygen,
I also do it sometimes.
