I have had seizures on/off and doctors couldn't find a cause. All my tests came back normal but for some reason I just get them outta no where. I noticed caffeine/aspartame causes them so I avoid any product with such ingredients. I was put on 200mg of Tegretol but I stopped taking them bcuz it made me into a veggie. My friend who's a doctor suggested maybe it's a vitamin deficiency and suggested maybe a multi-vitamin to keep my potassium and other level in balance. Is there other alternatives besides taking stuff like Depakote, Tegretol, etc. I don't like taking meds. due to the side effects most of them give you. Tegretol made me sleepy all the time. Most I ever slept after taking my medication was 21 hrs. straight. I dont wanna sleep my life away on seizure meds. So far I'm doing ok on the vitamins and by avoiding caffeine/aspartame. Any alternatives you know ? Email me @ BlazinRedxDragon@Yahoo.co... if you know any.

What kind of tests do they give you to see if you have it? Also, do you go to a doctor or a psycologist? Can my regular doctor tell me if I have it and what can they do for me?

I have anxiety & panic disorder. Sometimes I know what I'm stressed/anxious about. Other times I will just wake up feeling like crap & so physically anxious & I just don't know why. Everyone always says that anxiety is your subconscious trying to tell you something & you should ask yourself what is really bothering you to alleviate the anxiety. But I don't know what's wrong with me. I sit around & worry that I have every disease in the book, but I know it's just symptoms of anxiety.

I have read that it also has seratonin reuptake inhibiting qualities and prozac was developed because of benadryl. So if your doctor tells you to take it for an extended period of time in order to sleep my question is does it boost seratonin levels? I would think it would to some degree.

my little cousin has been suffering with outbursts for about 3months now, he is 18 years old and i think it is a result from depression, his father is not in his life and he has alot of anger twords him and his mother for that, he has ran completely across town in order to "save his father" he said, he has waken up and not have any recolection of who my mother was, whom he was staying with at this time, he charged at her, said she wasnt his autni, and that he didint know her and forced her out of the house, he smokes marijuana, and was put in the hospital at the time of his first out burst, they said he had a chemical embalance, and this was causes the out bursts, but now he is in a center, for children with mental issues, and he seems to be back to normal, accept he cant remember all of the outbursts basically none of them, he remembers bits and peices of time, is it possible for depression to cause memor loss? what other possible things could be wrong here, what is best for us to do?

I'm not too fond of taking pills every day. Are there other ways that are just as effective in getting rid of depression or at least helping it in some way?

Well I know that a large portion of ppl consume both coffee and cigarettes, sadly I've been one of them.
What someone once said to me stuck in my head that if you relate either to say stress with cigarettes and alertness with caffeine in coffee it work exponentially. For example you are feeling stressed and you smoke, you are feeling sleepy before work and you have coffee. Then next time it is more and more hence becoming more stressed and drowzier and maybe more irratable each time lol.
I never thought that I'd be dependent on either or loose my attention span for almost everything. I wonder do anyone else have a similar problem to share with me...?
Disfunction of the mind I call it to best describe... my vocabulary isn't that large lol, when I sleep definitions of objects and words are wrong is that wires in my brain crossed? When I act normal for a good period and then have a subconcious doppleganger step in in frustration to screw up my life and spent the rest of the day
:( ?

Even if I get 12 hours of sleep I'm tired. Because I get up late, I usually skip my breakfast. And I am having trouble even doing studying at school. I’m finding myself always falling asleep in classes. I usually make plausible excuses in order to skip physical education classes. Since I always feel tired, I prefer to staying home and watching TV. Nowadays, it's getting worse, and beginning to be so bad. I wish I could be more active. Please help if you possibly can.

I'm a 16 years old boy. That has a tumor in his left side of the temporal lobe. The tumor or let me say the cyst is causing me seizures. So three quarters of the cyst on the brain was removed when I was 12. But there is a quarter that is left that they could not remove because it is in the brain. And still now I'm having the seizures. I'm sick and tired of my self, because of the way I'm living. Even last summer I tried to kill my self but it did not work. I'm not living my youth in the way that my friends are living. If u can help me please do it. My e-mail is al-3bdullah@hotmail.com

Are there any free clinics for drug testing a young teen in the southeastern New Hampshire, or northeastern Massachusetts area? Or someplace that would be cheaper than a hospital? My friend needs help badly.

I have this thing that I do and I don't even realize it until I'm doing it! I count ,in my head, anything that is a repetative motion or sound. Example, I count my steps when I walk, I count how mant times my son swallows when I give him his bottle, I count how many times I scratch when I itch. I don't feel a need to stop on any number in particular but, I do try to stop on an even number. Is this just a dumb habit? It doesn't bother me or anything! I just want to know why I do it?!
