a form of epilepsy called 'childhood absence epilepsy" has any one else know anyone whose child has the same thing? my son is 9. what was the treatment and does it go away with time?

Any advice on getting diagnosed in the UK? Does the medical profession accept that this condition exists in adults or is there a lot of resistance to the idea?

I have no job and haven't in a long time. I mostly stay in my house all the time. I can run errands no problem but the thought of going somewhere and having to stay there even though I want to leave scares me. I was taking Zoloft for my anxiety but I stopped because I thought that I was over it (anxiety) and didn't need it anymore.

When I am hired, I go and then feel trapped in the place for eight hours and then excuses fill my head. I do want to work, don't get me wrong. I just feel so helpless and lost when I am at work. I am really close to giving up on myself...Can anyone give some real advice on what to do? Perhaps someone has been here before?

i have insombia, and people tell me to drink calming stuff, but i wet the bed so i cant, and i am 13! i am so embarassed i dont sleep at slumber parties, and i even have to have a really loud plastic sheet on my bed!

i cant fall asleep! im really tired! but i cant and i think i broke my toe! and nothing anyones suggested has worked! i cant have liquides close to bedtime or i wet.... i am against medicine cause my parents dont care i have a serios case of insombia! they just yell at me and tell me to go to sleep when i cant! and they dont try to help because them yelling is not helping!!!

did i mention i think i broke my toe?

what-with the prep, laxatives, etc, did you get any sleep at all- the nite before your colonoscopy. were u on an 18 hrs. prep? That's what I'll be on tomorrow, as my colonosopy is to be at 8:45 this Fri. morn. WERE YOU ON COMMODE ALL NITE - THE NITE BEFORE it?

i just recently saw cuts. i asked her about them and she said it was her cat. altho i noticed there were too many in one certain place and they were in a straight line. it's pretty obvious. but now what do i do? her parents aren't the type to deal with something like this. let's just say they abuse her. so they don't give a sh*t. my parents hate her cause she's "bad" and the school counselors don't beleive anything the students tell them. even if it's true.

I know what bpd is, and the signs and i have the books, the problem I have is that I am REALLY trying to get a move on it.. I have the most wonderful man in the world, and I am terrified of losing him because of this.. I have lost everyone else, and HE is the reaslon why I am so aware of my state of instablility and why I am SO willing to try.. My therapist isn't in such a hurry, to give me technics, or what to do as far as at home therapy.. So, if there is anyone out there that can tell me what I can be doing, saying, etc. that has helped someone.. I have a journal, and am constantly writing in it, but what is DBT? are there any books, or workbooks, and what else has been known to help.. I am only on effexor and vitamin B complex.. I am desperate to get the ball rolling, before I screw another relationship over something minute and regret letting him go knoiwing I pushed him away.. thanks..

One of my best friends just told me that she does stitching, and I am pretty freaked out. I have never heard of this before, and it seems like it's even more dangerous than cutting or other forms of self-injury because of infection. Is it possible for someone to suffer some kind of abuse (physical, emotional, sexual) as a child but not remember it until they are older. Or to start having dreams about the abuse that seem so real but you dont know if they really happened or not. Can these repressed memories be trusted? what type of things may cause these memories to be remembered?
