Get a small onion. Peel the skin off and then chop it into small chunks. Put the chopped onion into a deep glass or canning jar type container. Put your nose into the container and inhale through your nose. Exhale through your mouth. Do this at least 6 times. This will help you get to sleep. I have done it many times and it usually works.
As far as the toe is concerned, take some Motrin. There is nothing can be done about a broken toe.. Sorry.

I can only suggest what my father once suggested. If you can not calm your mind, find a book that you like, nothing too exciting or stressful. Put your bed light on and read until you feel drowsy.then try to sleep. I sometimes wake at 4am and believe hat I will not get any rest But I think I must "doze off" at some time.
Sleep tight,

how did you break your toe?
I don't know how old you are but if you are really having trouble sleeping your parent's should take it seriously. (I'm sure a broken toe doesn't help you sleep either!) If you can't go to a Dr to talk about your sleep trouble try taking a warm bath, drink some chamomile tea and make sure your bedroom is nice and quiet and DARK.

Ask your pharmacist where you can find Valerian Root. It's not medicine, it's completely natural. It works GREAT!
Exercise more during the day, don't drink anything past dinner time, and take a nice relaxing shower before bed.
Good luck, insomnia sucks...

Make yourself an ice pack, put it on your toe (wrap it in a towel or something...maybe wrap the towel around your foot to hold it on) and go lay down. Then try to relax. concentrate on something other than the pain. Imagine yourself on a beach or something.
