It depends on what you are forgetting.
If you are forgetting things like what you wanted to write on your shopping list, where you put your keys, what you were about to do before the TV or telephone distracted you, etc., these things are perfectly normal. Everyone experiences things like this daily.
If you find yourself forgetting more significant things, like where you live, who familiar people are, etc. see a psychologist because you may have a dissociative disorder.

Don't worry, it's not a very serious problem. It's called blocking. A person's train of thought is suddenly interrupted and they can't remember what they were thinking.
Sometimes you need to think of something else and divert your attention elsewhere and you will remember what you were thinking automatically.
There are some mental exercises for these problems but I forgot to ask my doctor what they are (during my psych rotations), LOL! (I'm a med graduate)

I would if I were you.
There are a lot of factors that might contribute to this, but a doctor could refer you to medication or counselling that may assist you in this.
Good luck.
I had this same problem for years but the docs straightened me out.
