last october i had a "lateral release" surgery done on my knee, which is a procedure where they slice the tendon around the knee to release some of the preasure on the knee-cap. It was great all last winter, but its starting to get bad again, ive been taking pain meds and i dont want to keep resorting to that and end up with stomach or kindey problems later...ive been in and out of physical therapy for years, both before and after the surgery and it doesnt help. the doctor the preformed my surgery now has an office in SC and im in PA...what should i do?? Please give me some options because im tired of being in pain all the time...knee replacement is out of the question because im only 22

I am 25 and have very sore joints, particularly in my shoulders. I have been tested for everything my doctor could think of (including arthritis and allergies) and everything came back negative. I take cod liver oil and a multi vitamin every day but still have pain. I have found aerobics has greatly increased the joint movement and I work out about 4 times a week but there is still a great deal of pain. What can I do to reduce the pain, am I doing something wrong?

Recently (about the past week) when I wake up for school in the morning, I have been experiencing nausea and a "heavy" feeling in the pit of my stomach. The nausea usually leaves by 11:00AM, but it is very uncomfortable, and I've needed to throw up a few times. Any causes of this? Should I seek medical help?

I have FM & TMJ (painful). 3 yrs ago, I finally found a doc that would rx pain killers for me. My husband is disabled & takes vicodin. Soon after my doc started me on vicodin, I left my husband but we remained friends and stayed in touch. Ever since I left, he has been offering me his meds, knowing I was still in pain as I was building up tolerence to the vic & my doc wouldn't up my dose. He kept saying that he was in pain, but that he didn't want to see me in pain & that I needed them more. He would just put them in my desk, so I wouldn't have to ask. Of course, now I realize he was getting me hooked so I wouldn't leave him altogether. He's very verbally abusive (not physically) & manipulative. I now want to leave him for good, but that means I will not have his meds. What will my doc say/do if I tell her all of this? Will she be able to give me something 2 take away the withdrawel symtoms? I know I'll never be given narc's again, but worth it 2 get rid of nightmare I'm in. Help!

For a while now I've had a strange ache in my legs. I live in Houston, a really humid and hot city, and for several years, maybe a couple times a month, my legs will ache like crazy. It's usually around my knee, right above and below it. But then sometimes it's my whole leg, and it feels as if my bone has grown so thin it's about to snap. It usually only lasts for a few hours. One time it hurt so bad I fell down and couldn't stand up on it. But that's the worst it's ever been. It's almost, how could I describe it, as if I were the tin man and I felt rusty and about to snap sometimes. Anyone have any idea? Oh yeah, and I lived in England last year, and it did not happen to me once, whether it's from the cooler, non humid weather of the Midlands, or just walking more. So, any ideas would be much appreciated as this kills me constantly.

I talked about sharp shooting pains in my last few questions...one being right by my right ear. Got a cat scan of my head, looks fine. Now my cheek is puffy in a large area and kinda feels funny when i talked or move it at all. It feels like theres something in there when i push on it. Can this only be a dental thing? Or can this happen from some other infection? Im in pain still and i think i need antibiotics. Also, It seems to become more noticable after i smoke a cigarette...could that be affecting my muscle or nerve from the sucking? I thought before i had migraines then an ear infection and now a dental problem...I just need some opinions...is this all related? I dont have insurance, how much would it be if i went to the dental office for an emergency exam? Would they see me? I know its a lot of questions...but ive been suffering from all this for quite some time and im sick of it.

I asked a question about pain management, and someone came up with the name cannabis. I have never heard of this before. Can someone tell me what this is? Is it legal? Is it healthy? Is it illegal????

Sometimes I get pain on the whole front side of my face (either left or right, not both) and it feels like it is in my nose, ear, cheekbone and jaw (like wisdom tooth area). I had the wisdom tooth already removed there (no cavities) so I wonder if this is "ghost" pain from the tooth or a migraine? Or sinuses? Anyone have something similar?

I've had my gall bladders removed about a year ago and after recovery I've notice I've been getting these pain on the right side of my back if I sleep for a long period of time. Is this normal? It feels as if the voided area where the gall bladder used to be somehow causes organs to shift and causes an empty pain there. But once I get up from bed there's no more pain. The pain just won't allow me to sleep in, don't know if this is a good or bad thing....

Okay so I've been running for the past two weeks now. This past week however, whenever I was just walking around campus to class or whatever, I started having these pains in my heart. At least I think they are heart pains. They are located right behind my left pectoral muscle and it feels like a stabbing pain. It might have something to do with my lungs too, for I've noticed that when I breath it effects the pain. I really need some advice on this one, I'm not the type to go to the doctor.
