Claritin is for allergies. You may need specific migraine medication like Tylenol Migraine, Advil Migraine or Excedrine.
Often times, prolonged headaches are due to dehydration, hunger or lack of sleep. If either of those are your problem you won't be effective at getting rid of the headache until you cure those things first.
Migraines, however, are a different type of headache. You should really see a doctor for a true diagnosis, as well as proper medication to manage the pain. Severe headaches and migraines can also be the sign of a more serious illness, so please see your doctor.

There is a huge range of causes for a persistent headache, from mild (like stress) to very serious (like early MS). A headache that persists this long really needs proper diagnosis, starting with a full ENT work up and a CAT scan. One cause might be sinus-related problems, such as a cyst in the sinus; but that's just one of many possibilities. Your doctor would need to take up a full history, including where the pain is, the nature of it, how intense the pain is, whether it varies with position/time etc. If your doctor is not offering this, go find a new doctor!

Migraines are pretty dibilitating. Depending on how much you get them, I would suggest getting a prescription from your doctor for migraine medicine. The best thing is to lay down still in a dark room with a wet rag on your eyes and sleep.

If you have migraines, there are prescriptions you can get to stop them when they are coming on and to treat them when they break through. You need to be diagnosed as having migraines by a doctor who will give you Imitrex or whatever you need, including something for pain.

Oh MY been there done that.
Lay day with a cold cloth on your head in total darkness, total quiet. Throwing up usually helps to. If its so bad you can't stand it go to the hospital and they can give you a shot to alleviate it but only as a last resort. Try to relax.
Take advil if you can keep it down. I always eat salty chips and drink Mt. dew when I take my advil. The caffeine helps it work faster but that's if you can stomach food at the time. Hope that works for you.

If you don't have Imitrex or any prescription drugs for it - take Excedrin Migraine - sleep. You have to stay in a routine to keep from having them!

Hot showers have helped me.
Also, consider whether your headaches might be caused by tooth problems (it took me years to figure this out); if you have gingivitis or have had any abscesses, try soaking your mouth in very hot, very salty water for at least two minutes as soon as your feel a headache coming on, followed by a good long soaking with mouthwash. I went to a number of MDs for my headaches, but it was my dentist who figured out the connection.
