Okay so I've been running for the past two weeks now. This past week however, whenever I was just walking around campus to class or whatever, I started having these pains in my heart. At least I think they are heart pains. They are located right behind my left pectoral muscle and it feels like a stabbing pain. It might have something to do with my lungs too, for I've noticed that when I breath it effects the pain. I really need some advice on this one, I'm not the type to go to the doctor.

It could be a muscle pull. If you have pulled a muscle in your back it could be affecting your diaphragm, so every time you take a big breath it hurts. Try laying on your back with your legs up on a chair or the sofa for about ten minutes. This position takes the weight off your back and relaxes the spine. You will feel your muscles relax and your back stretch out. It is very relaxing and may relieve the pain. But the only one who can reliably diagnose your problem is a doctor. What happens if, while lying on the floor, you have a heart attack? Are you willing to die? This pain could be something minor or it could be very serious. Be safe.

One time that happened to me and I went to the doctor and he said that I had pulled the tendons in my rib cavity??? so it was really really sore and it just takes time to heal. Like you stretched your ribs to far apart near the clavicle and it hurts. Also maybe heartburn. I don't know but you could go to Ivillage.com and they have a symptom solver there or you could call your doctor which is what i would do it you think it's serious!

Well this is important. What is your age? When you run do not run hard. Take it slow like a light jog and work your way up like jog lightly for 2 weeks and run for about 2 weeks.
