I've suffered for years now! It's even affecting my social life as it can be really embarrassing - somedays it's so loud. I've tried cutting out dairy products, but it didn't work. Any ideas???

Is it a violation for a diagnostic center (or a Doctor's office) to refuse to release your own information to you when you request it? (citing that they must first get authorization from the prescribing doctor and then when challenged to show a HIPAA rule citing that they must get authorization from anyone other then the patient the diagnotic center and/or doctors office they still refused? Then citing that I must hand write a request for release of my medical information that I must then mail to their HIPPA compliance officer who would then have to authorize my access to MY OWN RECORDS..

I am livid and ticked.... This all stems from a Dr.'s office wanting complete control and they are limiting my ability to get a second opinion trying to bully me and I am flaming ticked.

I have filed a complaint with the Dept of Health and Human Services through HIPAA but am curious if anyone else has had similar problems and what recourse/relief if any you got.

Thanks!

I've been awake for nearly 36 hours now and I'm really, really tired. Being stupid, I drank a pepsi before I watched a movie about 3 to 4 hours ago. I tried laying in bed for about 30 minutes and it always seemed like sleep was so near, I could almost feel myself succumbing to it. Unfortunately though, it never came...and here I am. I think what doesn't help is the simple fact that the whole time I was trying to go to sleep all I could think about was going to sleep.

Is that a problem or do you think I'm still being affected by the caffeine? Someone please help...I really need the rest.

I called ahead and told them I was going to be late because there was construction tying up traffic, then parking was a nightmare. When the technician took me in, I had to practically run down the hallway to keep up to her. I laid on the table, she she was very rough when she was pulling down my underwear then told me to finish myself, then raised the table very quickly and roughly,(all the while my bladder is very full which is painful) then lectured me about being late, and how they have schedules to keep and I was cutting into her lunch time. I was being very nice to her and doing everthing she told me to and she continued to be rude, snap at me and cut me off while I was trying to ask questions. I felt bad for being late, I don't make a habit of it. I was very close to ending the appointment right then & there. I'd like to hear what some medical professionals have to say about this. Should I send in a letter of complaint?
