How long before I start seeing results from the exercises im doing?
Hi, On monday I decided to get into good shape. Im a boy, 16 years old, 5'11", and way about 166lbs. Im hoping to get to about 155-160lbs with in a week or two. Im eating very healthy and low fat foods. on monday, the 25th, I started working out. I do 20 push ups, and 30 crunches to the left, right and regular (30 of each). and I do these exercises about 4-5 times a day. Im hoping to get a 6 pack, and also have decent arm muccels. its only been 3 days, and im already seeing small results, and am happy so far. but I was wondering how long will it take to get to that 6 pack? and to get the muscles i want? my stomach is currently pretty thin, but I do have some "flab" on it. Please help me out with some advice. thanks alot guys -Nick

I had my appendix removed 2 weeks ago.due to my size they couldnt do it laproscopically. So i have this 12 inch cut down the middle of my abdomen. Now the problem is i have been swelling.I have gone back to my dr. 3 times and he drained out the fluid by sticking these large q-tips between my staples and pushing them in and draining out the fluid.apparently he wants to open me up and heal from the inside out.he said that fat does not heal very well.and there are about 4 inches of fat that has to heal.my wife will be the one changing my 'stuffing'.i will be at my home.my question is this:Am i going to die?i am so scared.some of my family are avoiding me,like they are preparing for my eminent death.i am so scared of getting an infection.Or this thing taking months and months to heal.Or maybe never.what are my odds of surviving this?my dr. said i am healthy and not diabetic.but he is clearly dreading this procedure.please help me to have at least peace of mind.

I had an operation (finally) last monday, 25th. I previously asked Q & A's for guidance, as there was nobody to help out me out with post-op care, overnight babysitting etc. We muddled through - but now my so-called friend says she won't help get my child to school for me. I feel giddy and sick when I try to walk. Need 3 more ops to put things right, but feel like cancelling because making arrangements was stressful, messy, and far from ideal. My family won't help. Social Services (My last-resort) said getting an overnight placement wouldn't be possible because litl'un has special needs. I need the ops - but I can't take this stress anymore.

I'm under my doctor's care for pregnancy-induced hypertension, so my BP is checked regularly and has been fine recently. If my BP is fine, can I quit worrying about waking up in the middle of the night with a stroke or heart attack?

High blood pressure runs in my family. Smokers and nonsmokers alike eventually get it. I saw a programme on BBC dealing with garlic and its effects on blood pressure. This girl took garlic in many different ways and her blood pressure was taken after the suitable time had elapsed. It transpired that the only type of garlic that reduced her blood pressure was eating raw cloves.

Right! So now I'm lashing the raw garlic into me! ( Well, a crushed clove every night so that the odour won't be too bad in the daytime. ) There is murder in the house! They are all going mad! These same people will eat chinese curry which smells awful but my bit of garlic is causing war. I think they are selfish and I refuse to give in. I've also explained to my kids that since they have my genes, they too will need to look after their blood pressure. By the way, I get enough exercise. What would you do in this situation?
I dont really know which category to put this under.

My dad died unexpectedly a few days ago and we have no idea why. It was a normal day, he went to work, came home and mowed the lawn, watched a movie with mom, and went to bed. Mom woke up to hear him moaning like he was having a nightmare. She shook him but he wouldn't stop. His eyes were open and "hazey". His body started to curl up and get real tight. Then he started having breathing issues. Eventually he just went limp and died. He was 62, a healthy active construction worker with no heart problems or anything. He did have diabetes but it was only a pill now and then when needed. He had that under control. I just can't understand what happened. I hope a doctor happens to read this and offers an opinion, or perhaps someone has known of a death similar to this one and can tell me what the cause of death was.

The district nurse has withdrew care drom my mother saying there are termanly ill people who need the care more, the social services have not set up the care package and now have had to send in emergency care. I don't think it right to even use that as an excuse I am not being calous as my father died from cancer I thought that there were different types of care.
