Can anyone tell me how it can be checked whether your hearing nerves are ok? I'm not talking about how they check your hearing, but specifically how doctors can check if your hearing problems are caused by damaged hearing nerves.

I've already seen a doctor and he assumed right away that my nerves were ok, without checking first. Then he did check general nerve reactions all around my body by knocking on my joints, making me touch my nose etc. Does that really tell him anything about my hearing nerves?? I mean, isn't it possibly that I have damaged hearing nerves even if the rest of the body reacts normally?

I'm just wondering if this is really the way they check it and whether this is the only way they can check it. If you know, please tell me, I'll appreciate any info on this. I need to know whether I should seek a second opinion.

Does anyone else have a problem swallowing food and drink and find it increasingly worse when people are around.. If so, what have you done about it and what is the outcome? I have just made an appointment with my doctor regarding this problem, but I've heard of others with it. What on earth could be causing it?

Anyone else have carpal tunnel, or know how to stop the tingling in one's fingers due to this condition? It's pretty annoying. Natural or otherwise would be appreciated! Thanks :)

Please base your response on either personal experience or your own perception of chiropractors (no names please). If you are a chiropractor, please do not answer. Are these "guys" know-it-alls? Do they really help you? What sort of education do they have - medical degrees or what? Are they really doctors? Do they have you go a million times without getting better? I'd like an honest opinion either positive or negative. What questions should I ask if I decide to go to one? Are they worth the money? Would you go back a second time?

My husband and I are having a disagreement. He says that your eye is the fastest healing place on/in the human body. I say it's the tongue. Which is it? Anybody know?

I would like to hear from other people that are currently in or have been in a test program for the drug PTI-821 or Remoxy or hear from others that have been on pain killers for chronic pain for a long time.

My question really is, what has made you deal with chronic pain in a successful way, even if it is something other than drugs.

I have chronic lower back pain and of course the nerve pain that comes with it.
