Other - General Health Care - August 2006

The VA dept of Health mailed out documents regarding this topic. It's a frightening thought. They list services that might be disrupted, food and water and supplies you should stockpile, etc. Would they mail these with out some basis?

I finished eating supper about 45 mins ago and drank a glass of water. I started getting pains going clear down my torso starting about an inch and a half to the left of by breastbone trailing down to between two and three inches to the left of my naval. anyone have any idea what could be causing this or if you know of anything that has these symptoms. however, i know that it isn't an allergic reaction because i have had this same meal many times before.

I have a bad habit of biting my lip.It gets on my nerve,because i twist my face when i'm biting my lip.I usually do it when i'm nervous or thinking real hard about something.What can i do to stop this behavior?

I have three children. My oldest is almost 7. I was thinking about when to have the sex talk with my oldest. She is very smart and can figure things out sometimes before I am ready to tell her. She does not know about my period though, so I am not sure when to bring that up. For parents- when did you tell your kids about sex?
For kids- When did your parents tell you about sex and what did you learn? I mean, how much did you already know from friends and tv?

Treatment centres say they have the answer to alcohlism and charge thousands of pounds for the priviledge of a few weeks treatment. Patients are then told to attend A.A.or N.A. which are both free and fully self supprting. why not cut the middle man?? what do you think.

Is there any possibility? It is so broken now. Did you know that 178 BILLION thats with a B dollars were spent last year just on the administration of medical care? They use economic tricks and small print waivers to lower the fees they pay to hospitals, doctors, other health care, while their CEOs are walking away with billions in bonuses yearly. Will the system have to implode entirely for something to get done, or will someone come up with a reasonable plan?

I have to go into hospital soon for an operatiion. It involves an overnight stay. I have asked around friends/family to look after my young son, but so far nobody can/will do it.
Is social services the only option left to me?
Time is running out, and I am really worried....

Ever since I was 7, I get strep throat at least 3 times a year and sore throats on top of those. I'm 22 and I just had strep for the fourth time this year. None of my doctors have ever mentioned getting a tonsillectomy and when I asked about it said that they don't always work. Every time I get strep I end up out of school/work for a week. Should I push for the surgery?

my friend is really sick and she doesn't know why.. she has been throwing up everything she has eaten even chicken broth and saltines. and she feels like poop and she doesn't know why! also she has little red bumps on her body and they look like chicken pocs but shes not itchy at all what should she be doing to get better? preferably as soon as possible because school starts tomorrow and i don't think it would be a good idea for her to miss the first day of school but if shes still sick i don't want her to go.

I've had severe back pain for about a year now, I've had blood tests, X-rays that come back normal. My Dr has never called saying I need to come in to discuss results. I got an MRI done, and a couple of days later, I got a call saying the Dr wanted to see me to discuss the results...I think that means they actually may have found something. What do you think?

My right and sometimes my left hip clicks when i walk. not all the time but most of it. It started after it was randomly hurting really bad. the clicking doesnt hurt and it never hurts anymore, but im worrried about it.

In the open air (nothing), a fully enclosed holder or one that just encloses the bristles/head only? Wouldn't this be a haven for germs to just grow all over?
