We have a rule that says "First, do no harm." Euthanasia is considered a harmful act and should not be done. When people are sick or in pain, sometimes they get depressed and lose hope. The answer is not to end their life but to cheer them up and offer better ways for them to cope with their illness. Many people come out of depression and gain control of their life. I have seen it happen so many times.

Listen to the patient. If you're not willing to "put someone to sleep" then that is one thing, but when it comes to other, less illegal issues you should push your morals and ethics to the side and do what the patient needs and/or wants.
