Does this happen often and do you have a job that requires repetitive motion? Not to get you in a hypochondria mode, but you could have early signs of reptetive stress disorder (carpal tunnel). Or it could just you slept on it wrong and cut off circulation for too long. Just massage your wrist and forarms to try and promote blood flow. If you are real worried then see a doctor.

If you just woke up, then you're blood is probably not circulating correctly. You were probably sleeping on your hand or something. Just open and close your hand repetedly until you work the blood back into your hand. If it lasts for more then 1 hour, you should call the Dr. It's a sign of diabetes.

It could be a number of things but when that happens to me, it could be either a pinched nerve somewhere from the neck down, arthritis, etc. If it would persist and other symptoms occur, I would definitely have it checked. A lot depends on your age. The older, the more important it is that you have it checked out.

Does this happen a lot? My fingers all except my pinky were getting numb a lot and I ended up needing carpal tunnel surgery. Its an out patient thing. If it does happen a lot you should get it looked at.

Depends on how long you've been up and how often this happens. If it is a re-occurring problem I would go see a doctor because you could have carpal tunnel syndrome or just poor circulation due to a blood clot.
