I have had tinnitus for about 6 years now. Though I hear it all time it does not bother me too much.

My daughter started to get it after clubbing - so I bought her some musician-grade earplugs for gigs. She found it drove her mad - so I investigated some cures. Sadly there are none, but some people find low music as they sleep helps to cover the ringing, and Ive heard hypnotherapy can help when the stress levels are high. People dont realise how dangerous it is to be around very loud sounds! It can provoke suicide in the worst cases.

Yes, I do. Doctors advised me that I could wear a small hearing aid would emit white noise. That would counteract the hissing I am hearing all the time. However they also advised me to leave it for as long as I could as apparently the tinitus could get worse. No other cure I know of. One Answerer the other day said I might find a chiropractor useful as the noises could be caused by a bad back or neck posture. We have to live with it! A sleep with a radio turned on at nights (Radio 5 Alive). Hope this helps!

I accidently shoved an object in my ear. I had a broken eardrum and for ten years after, and even now, I cannot stand loud noises. I kept asking people if they could here the noise I was hearing.

Thankfully I haven't got it. The only annoying buzz I hear in my ears is my own voice, when I'm nagging the kids to be good (doesn't that get monotonous!)
