what is it? is it constipation

2007-09-17 02:21:52 · 6 answers · asked by jack j 1 in Pain & Pain Management

I am pregnant & suffering terribly with constipation. It has been about 5 days or so & on my doctors advice, I have taken Metamucil Fibrecaps & also have been drinking LITRES of water. I have an extermely sensitive palate & most greens make me gag (Always have, always will).
My question is (Excuse me for being so graphic!!!) is that my stool is actually right in my anus like when I wipe I get a bit on the toilet paper... But it is soooo painful to push & I am scared to death of pushing. It is giving me the shakes & making me dizzy. It is also affecting the way I urinate like I can't get all the urine out. Will this Metamucil ever work when the stool is obviously so far down? (If that makes sense... like it is obviously not in my bowels)
Please Help!! I'm beginning to think I will never be able to go again!!!!!!

Let me give you a brief medical history first. I am 17.
I have chronic sinusitis and have been known to suffer from migraine headaches. When I was eleven I had this really bad headache almost every day where my brain literally felt numb. We had a CT scan done and I was diagnosed with sinusitis. Last year I started seeing black spots, zig zaggy lights and pain... I was diagnosed with Migraines with an aura.
Everything has been fine until three days ago, I was talking to my friend and I got this sharp, throbbing pain on one side of my head that lasted for about six seconds then everything was back to normal. It didn't happen again to the other day and it was so bad I had to stop walking but it was gone before it really began. In the three days these sudden, painful then gone headaches have happen maybe 8 times, latest being when I got out of bed to brush my teeth this morning. What could it be?

where i live, its been really weird unlike other years. its been hot some days, then its turned very cold other days. there was really no transition. now its cold...but i can remember last week that it was still hot, too hot to even be wearing a sweater. i think this rapid change is what causes me not to feel so well, and the same happens to many people around here! we had a very hot summer and now its suddenly so cold. im not feeling so well. i think im going to get sick. i suspect it may be true that its the rapid change thats causign this. is it possible???

My friend sleeps all nite, up to 11 hrs at a time. He also claims to be very tired in the daytime and requires short naps of 45 minutes to 2 hours.
I cannot sleep like him. I go to bed at nite and get about 7 hrs of sleep, sometimes a little more and sometimes a little less. I cannot nap or I have problems falling asleep or staying asleep at nite.
I just wondered if he really is requiring all that sleep because he is older or is it a health problem or whats the deal?
I thought when he went on 3 weeks vacation, he would not be so tired, but it seemed to have made his napping worse. He would just spend the entire day in bed if he could.

I just don't know. My left arm has been troublesome for a few weeks and now my right a little. Pressure, pain, tingling.. I went to the ER a few weeks ago and the doctor didn't think it was a cardiac episode..... but I just don't understand this. Can a pinched nerve cause these things, like in the neck?

Well, A few years ago, when I was about 9-10, I sliced open the webbing between my left point finger and my left thumb. Only until now I have noticed I could never bend my left thumb, I can't make a good fist because its always pointing straight.

Was it slicing my Hand open that rendered my thumb unbendable, or was it from birth, because I don't remember doing anything else that could harm my thumb.

I have been hit in a certain area of my body as a child by my parents - many times that area had blood seeping through the pores of the skin when my punishment was done. That area was hit with a stick or fishing pole with about 100 or so swats on a nearly daily basis since I was 3. It was excruciatingly painful when I was little, and when I was about 10, I experienced the same damage, but very little or no pain or a numb feeling. That area to this day has no pain sensitivity and it is pinkish red and the mark would be very noticeable even from a distance, It is very sensitive to cold, but feels no heat. I have not been hit in that area since I was 18. Will that area always be pinkish red and not sensitive? Could there be nerve damage?

I have a large incisional hernia that I have waited a year to have repaired because of fear of a reoccurance. I read 50% of people who have incisional hernias repaired have to have them done over again. My surgeon says this percentage is cut down to 4-8% with tension free mesh repair. I am also worried that this rough scratchy feeling thing will feel uncomfortable inside of me. If you have had this done could you please let me know what your experiences have been?
Thank you very much!

It feels kind of rubbery... recently it was the right knee but increasingly its the right.... it keeps giving out and it's really painful at the sides..... it hurts most when I walk up and down stairs and when I kneel or bend my knees.
I don't think its arthritis as I'm only in my teens.... any suggestions on what it might be?

I have been getting treated for chronic migraines and chronic pelvic pain for awhile now. My doctor prescribes me Lortab 7.5 and Xanax (1 mg 3x per day) (I also have a panic disorder and have been on Xanax for 10 years). Last week, I was having a bad spell, meaning my pain was much worse, so I doubled my dose of Hydrocodone (lortab). I work in Advanced Tech Support at a Help Desk and troubleshoot high tech devices for consumers and apparantly my supervisor was told by someone I was "nodding" off and my speech was slurred and it appeared I was QUOTE "F*cked up". He took me in a conference room and told me this then asked me to leave and also bring in medical statements from my MD about my medical condition and medications. I had no problem with this and my doctor is mailing me that information but when I came back to work yesterday (supervisor wasn't there), I was told via thegrapevine, they would make me bring in pill bottles as well. Is that legal-Are my rights being infringed?

Like a smack in the face would hurt a woman less than the same smack with same force to a man?

Someone once told me that and said a woman's pain threshold is much higher cause of their genetics for childbirth. That true?
