I am pregnant & suffering terribly with constipation. It has been about 5 days or so & on my doctors advice, I have taken Metamucil Fibrecaps & also have been drinking LITRES of water. I have an extermely sensitive palate & most greens make me gag (Always have, always will).
My question is (Excuse me for being so graphic!!!) is that my stool is actually right in my anus like when I wipe I get a bit on the toilet paper... But it is soooo painful to push & I am scared to death of pushing. It is giving me the shakes & making me dizzy. It is also affecting the way I urinate like I can't get all the urine out. Will this Metamucil ever work when the stool is obviously so far down? (If that makes sense... like it is obviously not in my bowels)
Please Help!! I'm beginning to think I will never be able to go again!!!!!!

Pl buy an Ayurvedic mixture called Trifala Choorna.
Take two glass water and add two spoons mixture. Boil it till it reduces to 1/2. DRINK IT WARM BEFORE GOING IN BED. At morning you will feel bowels clear.
You should use sprouts and salads with meals.
Citrus fruit juice(orange) for breakfast is the best medicine but if you feel acidity it will suffer you.
If your constipation is due to acidity use cocoanut water at morning. Acids inflame the intestines and cause constipation, CW will dilute them, eliminate toxins and soon you will improve.
Remember, you know your body very well than doctors; so pl try to doctor of your own!

oh you poor soul i remember that feeling well... try a few cups of strong cofee thats what worked for me, rock back and forward and side to side, i'm not joking it does work and moves your bowels a bit more. Go for a hot bath and don't worry about pushing it won't make your water break. I was terrified to push too but in the end i had to cos it's either that or it all comes out on the labour table i'm living proof and thats not good lol, I hope the coffee works and take care don't worry to much x

girl, I feel your pain. the quickest way to cleen out your bowels is to go to the drug store & buy an enema bag with the anul tip connection on the end of the tubing. mix up some hand soap into a pan of water, enough to fill the enema bag. Put some vaseline or KY jelly on the tip of the anal tip & also the opening of your anus. Get into the shower naked & insert the tip into your anis & turn on the water. bending ove will help facilitate the water reaching way up into your bowels. You might have to take the tip out once in awhile because the tip will fill up with stools if it is starting to stick out of your anus. when you have completely emptied the enema bag, hang it on the shower door & go sit on the stool & wait for the results. If the initial enema doesn't empty you, repeat the process. good luck!

ASK UR PHYSICIAN, but, see if it would be okay to take a Fleets Enema- This is small bottle- similar to the size of a douche bottle, which is used often in constipation. Have you developed Hemorroids? Preparation-H is an excellent way to help with those piles. I workd in the Medical Field- When we have a Patient in ur dilemea, we do a manual (gloved hand, of course) of the person, to eliminate their impact. Of course, call the Dr. BEFORE doing any of this. Congrats on the baby. Take care and GOOD LUCK!

You might need to have your doctor remove it. I know that this sounds horrible, but I have heard of OBGYN's doing this for pregnant women.

It sounds like you are beyond constipated and impacted, impacted stools are VERY hard and VERY hard to move. You could do it yourself, if you can stand it. All it takes is a glove, some lube, and your finger. Yeah, sounds gross, but it works lol.

I would try eating something with alot of fiber, like bran cereal or see if it is safe to take a laxitive, ASK YOUR DOCTOR FIRST.

Ask your doc about a laxative...not just a fiber supplement.
