I and my 24-year old girlfriend were in restaurant. She was chewing a gum. She told me that to swallow a chewing gum isn't dangerous at all because it goes in her stomach and then comes out and laughed. Then she took her chewing gum back to her throat and made a gulp and swallowed her chewing gum. The gum slided down her throat and was gone . . . She told me that she swallowed her gum whole, it was in her stomach and couldn't feel anymore. She laughed and said that the chewing gum is in her tumy now. She told me not to worry about it and added that she likes to swallow cherry pits and sometimes when she is on a lazy mood and don't want to take a cherry pit out she simply swallows it and sends to her stomach so there is no need to find a place for a cherry pit . . . She even don't have a stomachache . . .What will happen to the chewing gum or the cherry pit in my girlfriend's stomach?

Ok, my husband and I have both been really sick for about a week. We saw a doctor today, and he didnt even test us for strep throat. He said probably just a virus that will have to go away on its own, and prescribed us Vicodin for the joint and muscle pain. Thats it. Is there any chance we have strp throat?

Symptoms:
fever as high as 104 F
cold and hot flashes
horrible body aches
sore throat, but not horrible
phlegm-y cough
lightheadedness
headaches
occasional nausea
an incidence of vommiting and diarhhea in my husbbands case
bloody noses for my husband
that spot on the sides of your neck that they sometimes check for swelling or whatever, is swollen and tender feeling

our daughter also had what seemed to be the same thing for TWO WEEKS. She still has a bit of a cough, and is really mucousy, but otherwise seems fine.

IS anyone experienced with strep throat? our symptoms seem to match what i have read online, except our throats are only mildly sore. more dry

I was looking at my hands today, and like never before I noticed the color of the thin veins that ran from my fingers to my upper arm. Everybody has green veins, but I really never pondered on why the veins are green. After closely examining my veins for almost 30 mins, I still could not say why the veins appear green. This was mainly because every gory image of cut skin or flesh that I have seen on TV or pictures did not show green veins. So please help understand why our veins appear green .

I've recently suffered a Salter Harris Fracture Type 2 in in my left knee, along with a sprained MCL. Because I am a hemophiliac (yes, I know, a female hemophilac - it's rare and I'm one of the few in the USA), I can't take any NSAIDs, as they thin your blood and it would cause bleeding in my joint (which also happened with said injury, but it was drained). I also have a fatel allergy to Tylenol since I was a toddler - I'll go into Anaphlyatic shock if it gets into my system. I was given a total of 4 cortisone shots, which helped, but the pain was still signifgant. The Orthopedic Surgen perscribed me Oxycodone for pain (the only other drug which I can take, Ultram, wasn't helping). I was perscribed 10 miligrams (2 Tablets), every 6 hours. But so many people have told me that I will become addicted before I know it, and I'm scared to take it now. What are the chances of this? Can I prevent it? I'm in allot of pain, but I'm afraid that I'll find myself addicted if I take it...
