General Health Care - August 2006

Have you ever had an experience---in a hospital, clinic, home setting, ANYwhere---where a nurse was really exceptional?

(I think we all mean well; some don't show it so much in certain areas. Some are more clinical than compassionate; & vice versa...)

Anyway,what made that particular one stand out from the other health care staff?

I would like hear what other people think about this before I go to the doctor...I have had bladder infections before, but never this severe. I feel like I have to urinate like every 30 minutes and after I urinate, it looks like there is a little piece of tissue or skin in the toilet. Also, right after my urine comes out, I have this sharp pain where the urine actually comes out from. I mean, it really hurts!!! And most of the time, my urine is not the normal yellow color, it looks clear, but with a hazy look to it. So if anyone has had these symptoms or know anything about it, please let me know... thanks!!!

I fractured my back on June 24, in florida on a boat..... it is a 10% compression fracture on the front of my t-12 vertebrae. I was invited to go on a trail ride at the Icelandic Horse farm... do you think its safe to go?

I hit my toe on a door about two weeks ago, and after about a week it turned like dark reddish brown around the edge. Then recently i was cutting my toenails and cut the end of it off and a reddish yellowish liquid came out. I ended up cutting the whole nail off and it didn't hurt at the time it just came off, but now it hurts really bad and its all red and swollen?? Does anyone know what might have happened and is it infected now and treatment advise?Thanks

I am 12 years old and have been getting dizzy spells for about six months. They aren't triggered by anything, I'll just be sitting or walking or whatever and then all of a sudden all I can see is green and black swirls and the room feels like it's tilting. Basicly I just want to give up everything. My house, job, wife and kids, yahoo answers. Move under a bridge, maybe get myself a nice cardboard box. im 15 years old and I have pretty bad bad astigmagtism and myopia and ive read that toric lenses can slow down astigmatism. is this true. ive been weraing glasses since i was in kindergarten or pre kinder. my prescription is:

As stated I have not long turned 50 and have never had a full medical - taking blood samples, tests on liver and kidney function etc. Are these types of medicals available on the NHS or does one have to go private. If so any recommendations would be helpful. An indication of the cost involved would also be useful.

I have been reading some of the ariticles on swimmer's ear and I've tried the alcohol/vinegar mixtures and a couple of over the counter things, but nothing feels good or really works well. I saw this ad for the Dryear Ear Dryer and was wondering if anybody has tried it? It sounds cool and if it works as well as the ads claim it should stop my ear infections and make my ear feel good. Any of you have one that can verify if it really works?
