I know a little about spiders ( i really don't no what your case is but I'll give you some ideas of what kind and what to do about them ) also any spider will leave this kind of mark but ideas below are alittle more likely to happen..

There's a spider called the hobo spider ( It's leaves a bright red ring around a black scab and it's also wet sore ) If it has been more then 48 hours and your still having the soreness and scab then this is not the spider that bit you.

another spider is the BRS ( This spider is alittle more dangerous ( and you will need to see a doctor ) this is the same as the first but this one is worse ( it causes alot of pain ) more like burning and sharp pains ( these spiders usually bite on the leg or thigh ) If I was you I'd seek or call for medical help immediately..

Good luck and hope I helped..

The only spider I know of that leaves the mark that you are talking about is a Brown Recluse spider. Within a few days the skin will take on a black appearance that looks like a scab with a red ring around it, looking like a bullseye sort of. The black part is actually dead skin and that will continue to grow in size until you get treated. If you think you have been bitten by a Brown Recluse, get to the hospital right away. These bites can be EXTREMELY harmful, especially if you don't treat it right away. If not treated right away, the least you will do is possibly lose a limb...extremely, you could die. Go to the doctor!

A black widow spider bite gives the appearance of a target, with a pale area surrounded by a red ring. Severe muscle pain and cramps may develop in the first two hours. Severe cramps are usually first felt in the back, shoulders, abdomen and thighs. Other symptoms include weakness, sweating, headache, anxiety, itching, nausea, vomiting, difficult breathing and increased blood pressure. Young children, the elderly and those with high blood pressure are at highest risk of developing symptoms from a black widow spider bite.
Do not panic! No one in the United States has died from a black widow spider bite in over 10 years. Very often the black widow will not inject any venom into the bite and no serious symptoms develop. Wash the wound well with soap and water to help prevent infection.
If muscle cramps develop, take your self to the hospital, and thats what is probbally happening to your knee, you wont die though so dont worry its nothing to big just a hasle!
IT IS NOT A BROWN RECLUSE!
They give you a rash and itch like hell!

Any red ring and strong reaction to a spider or even a mite bite should be looked at ASAP at the hospital. If you can bring in the spider or creature that did it, the medical people can more easily determine how toxic is it, and what antidote to use.

Where did you get the bite, and did you see the spider that bit you?

Brown recluse, black widow, and a brown spider indentified mostly in the Seattle area are known to have highly poisonous bites. If untreated, a brown recluse bite can erode muscle tissue and leave a large hole in the affected area. A really large hole. Go to the hospital. I just hope you called a med line and spoke to a real (and qualified) medical person.

You mean, What kind of spider leaves a black scab with a red ring around it after it has bitten you? Any spider that bites will leave its impression.

A brown recluse or a black widow. http://www.utopiasilver.com/testimonials/brown_recluse_spider.htm

The condition you described sounds like necrosis - a condition in which the tissue cells die. I think it's like gangrene but it's more localized whereas, gangrene is more widespread.

As far as treatment goes, antibiotics are used to kill the infection. This website is a journal type page in which a patient describes what happened to her when she was bitten. She describes the bite area as a " two inch black area with a large red ring around it". http://www.highway60.com/mark/brs/bite.asp?msg=1545

GO TO THE HOSPITAL NOW!!!!!!!
If you are having muscle control issues and joint pain you may already have blood poisoning. If the bite area is black and swollen with a red ring around it that indicates that necrosis has started (the tissue is dead and that around it is dying). This is VERY serious. You need to get medical attention right away.

An infected one. Better see a doctor. Especially if there is a red streak coming away from the bite. The pain in the leg is not good. Poison is in your system.

Sounds like the Brown Recluse Spider. Seek medical help immediately! I have seen pictures on the internet where a 10day old brown recluse spider bite caused someone to get their hand amputated. Please go today!

It might be a hobo spidar. I had one several years ago. They are a close relative to the dreaded brown recluse, but their bite is not nearly as dangerous. You should go to a doc. I had mine for over a month on my back. If I would have gone to a doc, it would have been much less time!
