The common healing times for body piercing of the ear lobe is six to eight weeks and for the ear cartilage is four months to one year!
As for care of it, do the following:
Wash hands before handling the pierced site.
Clean the area with antibacterial soap twice a day.
Rotate the jewelry and remove dried matter on jewelry with a moist cotton swab.
Dry the piercing with a paper towel since cloth towels can harbor bacteria.
Never use alcohol or hydrogen peroxide because they dry and irritate the skin.
Above all, seek medical attention if your piercing oozes, doesn’t heal or becomes infected.
I did these when I did mine, and they are really healthy!

Use a disinfectant (soap).
Clean your ears at least three times a day, and turn the piercings a few times around.
Eat healthy and don't drink too much alcohol while it is still in a healing process.

Use alcohol every night & any other cleaner the store might have given you. Remeber to rotate the ear rings in your ears so that the hole becomes permanant. Just be careful with your ears. Esp. while brushing & washing your hair.

Just keep them really clean for the next few months. Polysporin, rubbing alcahol, etc. Try to hairspray and styling products away from them while they are freshly pierced.

Turn the studs frequently. Clean the hole with rubbing alcohol and a q-tip a couple times a day.

I recommend not to touch it as much as possible. It's also good idea to tighten your hair, so your hair wont' be caught by your ear pierce and pulled. Try to stay away from really hot place b/c your blood circulation will be too high. Enjoy your fashion. =)
