Lamisil cream over the counter works best, better than Tinactin or the other ones. No swimming actually would be fine for it.

He should be wearing cheap disposable foot ware in public places so he doesn't contaminate the public surfaces with this fungus infection. Try rinsing the feet with a strong mouthwash like Listerine.(Read the label, it has antifungal properties.) It works well and its less expensive than OTC stuff. And use a moisturizing cream with Vit A & C Wear white socks and change every day.

He needs to go to the doctor. If it is that bad no over the counter stuff will help it. It may be something more and it is very contagious so keep him out of pools. Of course that is probably where he got it.
You should know this.

Ewwww. Or will it just spread it to everyone else in the pool, locker room and shower? He shouldn't be around moist places till he is healed.
