A lot of the time, even when I'm wearing gloves, my hands will feel really cold. :( I don't think it was like this during the summer, and I was recently (actually, just this morning) told by an MD that I have a slightly underactive thyroid.. Could this affect it? I feel cold a lot in general, even when I'm in a room that's really hot.

I am 30 years old. I smoke. I am thin; 8 months ago, I began noticing unusual leg swelling that comes and goes. I work 3 12-14 hour shifts at the hospital and I walk about 4 miles a week. I was already at the doctors office, after zillion tests...nothing. I am prone to kidney infections. Anyone could tell me why I would have this intermittent leg swelling?

I have a lot of dizziness, my right ear was making a popping sound for a few days there (it has since stopped), and I feel like my ears are a little plugged. But no pain.

Is it an ear infection?

Lately I've been struggling with weight and am at my heaviest. And I am a compulsive eater and my BMI isn't good but I have had relasp of an idea of becoming anorexic or bulimic. I've even tried (just now) and few other times to throw up after I eat, but I don't get far enough. There's been a couple of times in my life I tried and succeeded; once when I was 12 and then at 15. I'm 5'0 and nearly 200 lbs, and I've been feeling awful and stressed. Last time I weighed almost this much I went on a diet for about a year and lost about 30 lbs but something changed and I can't lose weight anymore and I have a few occasions considered trying these disorders. Even though through my research and seeing deadly anorexic on Dr. Phil and other tak show; and feel disgusted by it. I do get the urge to do it. Does or has anyone else felt this way?

My husband has a back injury and has been put on Vicotin 500 mg. he has asked his doctor to up his dose and the doctor told him that he could not because that was a sign of becoming addicted. I would like to know if that is reasonable or if i need to get involved and fight for him. Anyone with any knowledge, please help.
