I went to the doctor last week for a sinus infection and got a course of antibiotics and some decongestants. I finished the decongestants last week and the antibiotics two days ago. Today I woke up and when I spit, the phlegm is DARK red, almost black or purple and is COMPLETELY blood... there is very little actual green/clear mucus. Should I be concerned? It's been happening all day and I don't feel fatigued or dizzy or nauseous or anything else. I'm completely normal except for this spitting. It comes from my sinuses, not my chest. Any ideas? Any suggestions?

I am being medicated for a hypothyroidism. I got test results today that show that my thyroid is getting back to normal but my triglycerides are at 255. My colesteral is fine. I try to eat a low fat diet (been rough with the holidays) and don't eat a lot of sweets. I don't want to go on more medication. Any suggestions? My doctor mentioned some drug that blocks fat? What would they put you on to reduce your triglycerides?

I'm a classical musician with attention deficit problems. I've been thinking that a drug such as ritalin would help me concentrate and increase my performance as a musician. However, I've heard some really nasty stuff about ritalin, and I'm not sure if it's worth it. Is there any way of reducing the side efects? is it possible to take smaller dosis? is ritalin avalable without a prescription? are there any alternatives I could use?
Please, any advice is welcome.

OK, so. I've been feeling very sick today, and have been burping constantly(which I never ever ever do) Every time that I burp I taste throw up. This morning, I was unable to focus my eyes on my school work because my eye was turning whatever I tried to focus on into am explosion of blue and orange color. Also this morning, at basketball practice, I was feeling a piercing pain around my right shoulder. Lastly, I am extremely tired, I could not even focus on writing my english paper, instead found myself lying asleep on my floor at 6 in the afternoon. Yet another thing that never happens for me. Please, if you have any idea what might be going on that would be great.
thanks,
m.

I will add a little bit more info. Since I have survived two brain surgeries,I have acquired a few more problems to live with. My brain no longer works very well. My cognitive skills have been damaged, along with my verbal conversations have suffered, To add to this among other problems, I have begun suffering through occasional seizures. How can any woman want to meet or deal with this kind of physical and mental challenge. Then begin to love a man, who can barely understand his own future.

I have a project for liturature, and my partner is my best friend. For some reason we decided to do a research report on a disability, and we also decided to research muteness because it interests us the most. Now, right now we are still researching, but we just keep getting the same things over and over again, no matter where we look. Can anyone help me and give me some information?

i'm very out of it, and this morning I felt very faint. I found it very hard to concentrate in class and lose attention easily. I have had sporadic stomach pain throughout the day. Now, my throat is very scratchy, and kind of sore. I have a headache, and am very cold, even in a 69 degree F room, in sweatpants, a t-shirt, and a fleece sweatshirt. I don't feel very good, but I'm not sure if I'm actually sick or if I'm sick enough to stay home from school. What should I do? thank you for answering. oh yeah, I'm almost thirteen.

I was just thinking, and thought of this question. Years and years ago: how did people treat acne? , when there were no antibiotics, medicines, creams, topicals, etc. etc....anyone know of a site that has looked into this. Im just curious

I am a 55 year old male. I eat a normal healthy diet. I occasionally get fatigued but have had anemia for 6 years. The doctors, gastro, henatologist can find no cause. I take iron tablets and eat red meat and veges so what is next. I am concerned that there appears to be no real reason for the anemia. I would appreciate comments as I am really very concerned. I do have high blood pressure and am taking medication I also have GURD and am taking nexium to reduce the acid flow etc.
