Generally you get sick from playing in the rain because you get cold. To avoid it, either stay out of the rain, dress properly in waterproof clothing, and/or make sure you change out of wet clothing we you return indoors.

There is no evidence to support that playing in the rain makes you sick.

playing in the rain doesn't make you sick itself........it weakens your immune system which makes you more likely to catch a cold or virus.

in asian alternative medicine, they say our body's health is based on the balance of heat and cold in our body. when we expose ourselves to extremes of temperature, our body gets into panic, it goes into different modes to protect the inner homeostasis..thus causing our immune system to get affected. we are surrounded by microorganisms..in the air that we breath, the food that we eat..the surfaces that we walk on or we touch, our body is just able to ward them off by our own antibodies designed to protect our body continuosly...any changes or stress related attack to the immune system, causes us to get sick...not just playing in the rain. im a nurse and i believe in all these and more.......take care...play in the rain but only in moderation......
